What is your goal? How do you use it, besides to hold the coffeemaker?

We use as a coffee station. My husband uses coffee maker and I use tea kettle daily. I was wondering if hutch with glass still to cluttered. Actually we use everything here

Looks fine to me. Especially if you use everything in the space.

You posted about this before. What were the responses?? Post a picture of the entire room for context.

Personally I find it overwhelming. I see you cannot make the bottom piece wider due to the base board heat, but I would remove the top cabinetry. It's top heavy. Or at least remove the angled sides. Again, it looks like an added piece because the crown molding is cut. The piece should have been designed to flow with the white crown molding.

The suggestions with holiday decor was to get rid of table and water bottle cases on the floor, plus small table and plant on other side. And some of decor in the hutch. Which I know have done
Someone suggested taking down the sconces and putting a picture there someone else suggested put one sconce on the left and one sconces on the right of the hutch

To remove hutch is not an option
Just wanted suggestions if I took enough decor away

Looks very strange, just stuck on and at the wall, without anything related nearby. Way too top heavy.

Side note: The hardware is much too modern for such traditional cabinets.

I do remember this post from before. It does look less cluttered with the water bottle & table gone. I would still remove the 2 sconces from right wall as they add nothing. I would hang one piece of unframed art there - a colorful wrapped canvas - no frame as no more wood. I would also work on the contents of the glass fronted cabinets. Remove the books on the 2 shelves - they have nothing to do with a coffee bar. Also remove the framed photo - who can see the image up there on top shelf anyway? I would also remove at least half of the wine glasses. The glass fronted cabinet doors make it important to curate the items on the shelves that can be seen. Colorful coffee & tea cups - tea pots - tea cannisters etc - make everything in there something to do with the purpose of the coffee & tea bar! Make it colorful and pretty. You don’t show us the rest of the kitchen area so I don’t know what would go on the wall to left of this cabinetry but maybe more art that relates to art that should replace the sconces?

Nice kitchen & really like the table - I remember that - the wood chairs - Stickley? The only wall we don’t see is to left of coffee bar. If it has any length to it maybe hang a colorful canvas on that wall & leave the sconces. They are kind of a nice balance to the iron plant hanger on the short wall opposite them. Are you painting? Looks like samples between the 2 windows.

Yes. I'm having the chairs cleaned up a bit that why one is missing. I give him one at a time. The left of the hutch is a small area where the pantry is. Not much of a wall to decorate. Yes. The color now is Manchester tan. Thinking of pale oak or Swiss coffee or linen white

Is one of those colors close to the lightest color in your flooring? I’m looking at the light square on left foreground of your first picture - closest to the wooden chair. That might be a nice wall color if you’re wanting a bit lighter. It looks like it has enough color to still make the white window trim & crown molding pop a bit - a bit of contrast.

Oh the books in the hutch are all cook books. I can take them away, thought it added color. The first shelf I just threw up for the heck of it but I did have them on the top. I also just put a more colorful pitcher and my grandmothers McCoy piece. I don't know just playing with stuff I already have

The white set on the righthand shelves look nice, brighten the interior, and carry the backsplash. I would do more of that if you have it, the white with the books (as long as they are cookbooks or about coffee, teas, muffins, etc) The wine glasses rather disappear, the other items seem to be a bit random. Theme it to coffeetime. You could also stack books and use them to elevate short white items.

I agree I need something white where wine glasses are. I'll look.

Consider removing the sconces to the right, add art and a taller plant (or maybe put the plant on a simple stand).

The upper coffee bar cabinets have a lot of stuff in them. Are you using these uppers only for decorative display? It might be more practical and functional to change the glass from clear to ribbed, etc. to help conceal the stored contents.

It just does not look like a coffee station. Where are the coffee cups, canisters for coffee, tea, sugar?

Who cares what you call it? It is a countertop with small appliances that you use regularly, it is uncluttered, it goes with everything else in your kitchen. It houses cook book and other items above.

Don't micromanage this. It is very nice. Time to call it quits and move on to another project.

The cups are also there, sugar, tea. All that is there. Maybe the picture doesnt show it

I see what you're showing. The top of the cabinet does not look like a coffee station - sorry!

What is a coffee station supposed to look like? And who cares? This is a cabinet that serves her functions. She has what she needs there to make coffee. When did everything become a station? The kitchen isn't so large that she can't walk to get whatever else she needs, like water to fill the kettle or pot.

Sorry that I'm not using the words that you used @KW PNW Z8....I said it did not look like a coffee station and should have referenced what you pointed out yesterday.

@shirlpp I do ’get’ what you mean. I think though that the difference in tone in our comments is that I elaborated quite a bit on what I thought would add to the coffee bar look & feel where your comment was only about the current look not working but not why. I think when we post spaces that are already quite nice & ask for input on changes we are really wanting suggestions that might improve an already nice space with ideas we haven’t yet thought of.
