I will assume you were attempting an eclectic style for the room. Unfortunately, the end result makes the room look as though it was designed by a committee. Too many different styles.

I see a number of items that need to be addressed if the room is examined for what works and what doesn't work.

• The pale blue walls don't work with your furnishing & finish selections. Instead of painting the fireplace I would select a dark gray to bridge the gap between the sectional fabric, the flooring & the fireplace.
• I'd select a different patterned rug with the colors of the sectional and the flooring to help link the variety of items you have in the room.
• Get rid of the hold backs for the curtains. The look isn't right for a modern room.
• Take off the light kit on the fan. The quality of these lit kits is never good.
• The area requires a larger coffee table at least 48 inches. If you want to continue that bamboo rattan style this would be the item to further that style.

The bookshelf for photos competes with the fireplace in style and shape. I'd use picture ledges mounted to the wall to display any photos.

Frankly the TV over the fireplace doesn't fit properly, but I see no other possible location for the TV from these photos. If you paint the walls, the fireplace no longer sticks out in the room like the one items that doesn't work with the other furnishings. Painting it white or black was never going to work in this room with the color of the floor.

Here are how some other multicolored rugs would work in the room. Note these are 8x10 a minimum size for your room. Once the rug is changed the pillow covers will have to be adjusted to coordinate.
