The "blue door" is completely custom. No one makes or ever made that as a standard profile.

You can have ANYTHING you want if you are willing to PAY for what you want. That would mean a totally custom door, built by a shop in your locale, wherever it is: )

The blue door is just a standard colonial 6-panel door that had the raised panels removed and replaced with glass.

Here in FL we have lots of glass companies that cut standard tract house front doors and replace the solid panels with hurricane glass, but they usually cut out more of the door and put one big piece of glass.

I prefer the brown door!

As others have noted, that color is custom. It is not a standard color available, which is why your contractor stated that it doesn't exist or is complicated to get as it will be a higher cost for the custom door.

Do you like the color of the door or the style of the door? Personally, after living in a house that has glass on the side of the door...I hate it. Everyone who comes to ring on the doorbell takes their grand old time to shamelessly stare into the glass into our house. I'm over it, lol!

But to each their own.

I think the color of the door you chose pops and finding the right color for your door may be what you need. Magazines have a way of making you think you want a certain something...but it's actually something else. In our home reno, we painted our door and the moulding surrounding it to something complementary with the brick and the updated interior and it made a world of difference. Same door but it felt new!

For me, though, I need to find something to cover that little glass we do have! I need some privacy rather than making eye contact with a random solicitor that I can no longer run away from, lol!

My house is Georgian, and I like the look of this particular style door on my house because it is Georgian/Colonial. My current door is close to that color of blue - it works nicely with the brick and gray trim.

I don't mind all the glass. In fact, if we bought a solid door, I was going to get a storm door. So, this solves that problem all in one door.

Think this through carefully. Make sure your decisions meet your goal.

I do NOT want to open my front door and have no barrier between me and the stranger outside the door. It's a security thing with me.

Here is a company that makes 6 panel wood doors that receive screen material or glass. This would be a less expensive solution for your entry.

Gotta say - I love the brown door! It picks up the darker bricks and complements your light fixtures. It looks beautiful and elegant, like your home. But you have to live with it so what I think doesn’t matter 😂
