Cabinet Hardware Help

last month

Someone removed all the kitchen cabinet hardware, and it was tossed/lost in the big cleanout. UGH! The uppers had handles, the lowers and drawers had knobs. It's a traditional home, black granite, white cabinets. This is the only photo I have at the moment. Hardware was originally white, but since we have to replace, should we go with something contrasting...black, gold? Your thoughts are appreciated!

“The uppers had handles, the lowers and drawers had knobs.”

Maybe it’s not a bad thing they were tossed out. Knobs on drawers are a poor choice for several reasons - they basically got things backwards. You have a traditional kitchen, so traditional knobs and pulls might serve you well. A brass or bronze finish would repeat the warmth of the floor color. White or glass would disappear into the cabinets. Neither is wrong or right, just a matter of preference.

BUT the issue is the holes You will need to find pulls or knobs that work with the holes you have . As for color or style I have no idea we have no context other than a kitchen that is a bit dated . Were the cabinets redone ? I need a bit more info please . . I would not do white .

Thank you, Patricia. Cabinets are not/will not be redone. They are in good shape. Hardware replacement is mainly for resell. Most likely, we will measure and find hardware that fits the prior drilled holes, so we don't open a new can of worms with filling and having to match paint. Hope this helps with context.

The cabinets were probably originally oak and were painted. I think any color could work, depends on what look you want. Buy a handful of pulls in different colors to try and return the ones you don't like. But I agree with Patricia, white wouldn't be my first choice.

Thanks, eam44. I appreciate the photos. I really like the idea of the brushed brass.

TopKnobs has a good selection of shapes, colors and sizes, and a good price. You can order a few samples at a discounted price.

I like knobs on doors and pulls on drawers.

What finish is on the hinges visible on the door and shutters? Matching that finish will give an intentional, planned look to the kitchen. Look at Amerock for budget friendly options in several finishes for classic styles. Knobs and pulls are stocked in builder packs available through big box stores and online. https://www.amerock.com/

@Design Interior South, can you share what AI tool or mock-up software you are using? I am looking for one right now and a recommendation would be great.

Wow, Design Interior South! Thank you so much for taking time to provide visuals. I thought brass/gold would be the way to go; however, the chrome is stunning. It really is a beautiful home, and you have enhanced it with this rendering. Much appreciated!
