An interior designer generally has a bachelors degree in interior design and most will affiliate with ASID and other such professional groups. They are qualified to work with architects and contractors in matters of space planning, such as moving walls, and kitchen and bath remodels, as well as the redesign process.

Interior decorators do not generally carry a bachelors degree. Decorators can get a CID (certified interior decorator) certification. This allows redesign of the home as it stands, such as reworking existing floor plans, and helping clients with furniture , accessory ,lighting, art, area rug ,window treatment, color planning and other similar projects.

Both designers and decorators could help you with your rooms.
