What is the question?

To maximize the utility of a U shape you would place one appliance on each side (include the sink as an appliance): sink, stove, frig. However, we have no idea how large your U is or whether you will have an island, so it's difficult to comment. Is there a window on one arm of the U which creates a logical place for a sink? In order to get good comments you should show us pictures and a floor plan with dimensions. It's helpful to also include the adjacent rooms on the floor plan because it's important to consider how the kitchen space flows to adjacent rooms. Nothing exists in a vacuum. We need more information for context.

We need a lot more information!

1. Are you asking us to help you design your Kitchen?
2. Are you asking to see Kitchens with a similar flow that you mentioned?
3. Something else?

The lack of information will likely not get you many responses. If #1, I suggest you read the Featured Answer in the "New to Kitchens? Read Me First!" thread to find out what information we need to help you.

Regardless of the shape of the Kitchen, the following is the typical and by far most common workflow, you want to have:

Refrigerator > Sink > Prep Workspace > Range/Cooktop

(Also known here on the Kitchens Forum as: Ice.Water.Stone.Fire.)

Okay so what was the reson for the post?

U shaped kitchens are my favorite, even though they're not trendy at the moment. I could give some pretty decent advice on laying one out -- if I knew the question.

"U shaped kitchens are my favorite..."

Me, too! Very efficient when done well.

What everyone said. And especially having one appliance on each side of the U. The only reason to have a sink and range on the same wall is if there's no other choice.

And we wait for something, anything????

This seems to be happening more and more lately. An HU - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ user makes a post about something (using bad grammar) - but doesn't ask anything + doesn't make another appearance.

Maybe it was a bot?

I sort of think this was meant to be a search, not a question.

^^^ Yes, also possible.

Even so come back and tell us then
