Warm white backsplash ideas

We have cherry cabinets with viatera cloud ridge countertops and warm lighting. Trying to find a warm white tile backsplash that would tie everything together and not sure if we should do a traditional subway tile or herringbone. There’s not too much area- mainly behind the stove. I would welcome any ideas! This is what AI generated for the backsplash but I don’t know if it’s too busy?

Close up of countertops so you can see the brown and gray veining.

the counters read COOL....play along w that when you pick your tile. If you want some color /pattern that might work more than overall cream or warm white solid tile choices. analyze tiles in your space .....try a few types. Very attractive cabinets by the way, in a traditional style.... says to me a nice colored tile esp w the area above cooktop to show it off.

this blending of light tiles might be a way to work w warm and cool esp if you want to stay light, overall [skip the mosaic row] .... but 2nd pic..a color tile can work in your kitchen. bring in samples.

Thank you.! I really like the blend of tiles in that first picture. I’ll look around for something similar. Trying to stay away from too shiny and those look pretty matte so would be great.

Herringbone really belongs in a space where you can appreciate it. How will you even see it in the sink zone? You’ll have so many cuts there.

True. I wasn’t sure if we would just do a traditional subway offset for that wall for that reason.

Would you consider Kit Kat tiles? There are lots of colour choices and they can run vertically or horizonally (my preference is vertical)

This one might be too warm for your space but there are lots of colours of beiges and greys and whites to choose from if you look around. Tilebar has many choices.

These are more polished and have quite a bit of colour variation.

This green is gorgeous. You could consider a colour for your space. Green would look fantastic with your cabinets.

Agree with eam44. Herringbone lends better in specific spaces such as an accent underneath the hood area and not for the entire space as it is wasted at the sink area.

Consider other than white, as it may feel too stark/cold with your warm cabinetry and flooring. As well, if it‘s slightly off the counter’s undertone, it will feel off. Suggest bringing home different types of tiles (a box that can be returned vs just a few) and tape tiles on the back to get a sense of the outcome. If you do choose, suggest grout that works with the veining to warm up and create a connection.

These would feel warmer and more interesting.

For my cherry cabs, I chose Adex's Neri tile in white satin:

    https://adexusa.com/series/neri/

It's a very close match for Ben Moore Simply White, which has a hint of warmth. The Adex reads like a neutral white, neither creamy nor blue-ish, but is definitely warmer than Daltile or American Olean white subway tile. My backsplash gets installed in 2 weeks, so hope these plans pan out.

Maureen's cherry cabinet picture is what I was aiming for. I don't find it too stark, and the contrast should be beneficial in my dark kitchen with the dim New England light.

You can try uploading your picture to a tile site (I use tilebar.com and daltile.com) to get an idea of how different tiles would look before getting samples to view in your space (which is a must IMO.)

Here is an example with a greige color followed by greens - I like the green suggestions above and wanted to show you how some color can add vibrancy to your kitchen.

Thank you! These are all so helpful. I’ve sampled about a boxes off-white tiles. I’m afraid the colored ones will make everything feel too dark. I liked this cream one (shown next to a stark white for contrast) but wonder if a little more variability similar to Maureen’s comment would be better (please excuse the unfinished wall- we are mid project!)? The mauntauk gin was too shinny for what I wanted when I saw the sample.

The rest of the room for reference.

From here it looks like the color of that tile goes well with your counters. If you want color variability then choose a tile that is completely flat, not wavy tile. It’s one too many finish details.
