Which master bathroom layout?

last month

So these are really rough/not complete drawings so bear with. Just wanted to get people’s opinions on these three different design designs and if they make sense or which one people like the most, etc..

One thing to note, is that the big area in the top right kind of corner is not usable which is why it is sectioned off like that in the drawings. Our house is an antique salt box, and that is where the headroom is low due to the slope, therefore rendering it unusable which is why nothing is over there.

I am a bit confused what is the bench for ??. Where is the toilet now? They are tricky to move and often impossible with huge expense . Why 2 vanities ? Toilet rooms are just silly IMO no one should be using the tolilet while someone else is in the bathroom. The shower is way too samll to have abench If that is the shower in the bottom right corner .I assume top floor of the house how do you access this space , is tat the bedroom to the left marked BGO ?

What are code requirements in your jurisdiction re: ceiling height over/in front of toilets? I've seen some WCs that have sloped ceilings (I've also seen some showers with a portion under a sloped ceiling).

How low is the ceiling in that area? Maybe part of it could still be used - just a thought.

The bench is for ideally sitting down to shave. This is a new build, so there would be no moving anything. I just want two vanities….I wasn’t sure about the toilet room myself, but it would be nice to have the toilet out of sight visually.
Yes this is the top floor. The master bedroom is the room that is underneath the master bathroom. There is a door from the bedroom to the bathroom.

I dont like any of them. Do you need to have two separate vanities? What about a long vanity with two sinks? Using plan 3 what if you put the toilet where the shower is and a double sink vanity next to it and then put the shower where the toilet is?

This could be a really unique and beautiful bathroom. Properly placed mirrors will add light and size. A water closet for the toilet is often a building upgrade. You even have room for a vanity area beside the sink! How great is that! Hope this helps. 😊

Frankly, they are all not very good.

If this is a new build, post a capture of the construction documents ("blueprints") of what it is supposed to look like (or already is built), and why you are changing it, including the entire Master Suite, closet, and some of the adjacent rooms. Windows are critical to know. The jog in the sloped ceiling doesn't make sense, and there must be a dormer or something. Also, sloped ceiling portions can work with closets or toilets.

Not a fan . Don't mind 2 vanities, but they look like they are just randomly thrown in there. Personlayy, I would love the character of the sloped ceiling showing and not blocked off. There are many creative ways to use/style areas like that. Which way does the ceiling slope? What is the low point and high point? What's shown on the blueprint? This is a new build??

There is a dormer but it will not span across the entire length of the roof, so there will still be the slope. No, the sloped area won’t be walked off actually, the lines are just there to indicate the section where head room makes the space unusable. The slope goes to the back of the house, in typical salt box fashion.

The house is actually an antique saltbox from 1740. It was saved from being demolished and was taken down part by part in order to save it. It is being reconstructed using the original parts that were able to luckily be saved, but technically a new build since not a preexisting structure obviously.

Here are some things I have for the upper floor that maybe would be helpful to see! I would love to see suggestions re the bathroom if anyone would care to share! Kinda stuck on the layout ourselves. Unfortunately these pics do not indicate the windows but there aren’t many in the master bath area. There’s one on the back wall and one on the side per the original house design.
