I tried bare minerals but prefer liquid foundation and creamy cheek color. I did like the finishing powder ( mineral veil) but lost it during travel and won’t replace it.

I don’t like to keep any makeup on at night— thinking of both skin and bed linens.

I use Bare Minerals rescue complexion tinted moisturizer when I want a foundation. I really like it—light and glowy. Mineral powders never do much for me. I may as well wear nothing.

I've tried both and while I liked the lightness of it, it didn't give me enough coverage. I guess it depends on your skin.

I used to use Bare Minerals powder foundation years ago. As I got older I was not as happy with the way it worked with my skin so I stopped using it. I never tried their liquid foundation. Have never tried Laura Geller make-up.

I'm using Laura Geller foundation and blush. Before that I used Clinique liquid foundation.

Initially, liquid foundation gives a better look and coverage, but it doesn't take long to settle into lines and creases and large pores. And that for me sorta undermines the way it's supposed to make you look better. It's also harder to touch up during the day.

Laura Geller gives light to medium coverage, mostly light. I've decided to settle for that. It doesn't give a flawless foundation but it does even out my tone and provides a good daytime look. It doesn't settle into lines, creases, and large pores. I can touch it up at any point without feeling I have to do it over. It never looks powdery. I do need to apply some concealer and corrector around my eyes before doing my foundation. Unless I know I'm not leaving the house all day, I always wear foundation, blush, and pencil eyeliner.

I would never consider going to bed without cleaning my face, whether or not I was wearing makeup.

I've used both but use neither now. Bare Minerals was my go to for years. It is fairly light coverage and I loved that it was dry and didn't feel like it would slide off in summer or any humid weather. The mineral veil setting powder and well rested concealer are both good. I can't really pinpoint when or why I stopped using it.

I bought a Laura Geller set on a special package deal. I like the blush and contour powders. I don't like the foundation. I really wanted to like it, especially since the deal included a free second compacts, but I gave that one away to someonw who wanted to try it. She wasn't enthused about it either. I feel like it irritates my eyes, but the main thing is the color. It is too dark and too orange for me.

I won't say I never fell asleep in either - I was wearing Bare Minerals around the time my parents were both in decline and so many other things were happening, but I do remember washing my face in the middle of the night. I can't say it did anything for or agaianst my skin -- lack of sleep and stress were the main issues.

I used Bare Minerals when I was a bit younger. Got a little older and it was no longer looking good on my older skin. I tried the Laura Geller and it was just okay. It seemed to highlight my fine lines and pores. Using a primer helped a bit but I still wasnt real happy with how it looked. I am 57 and have given up on foundation. I find tinted sunscreens and moisturizers look better. I just started using Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator and I am really liking it.

About 2-3 years ago there were several who bought an insanely reasonable Laura Geller intro package. Looks as if several of us bought it. I did try it and did not like it at all. It was way too dry and chalky for me. I felt like one of my dear old aunties wirh that mess on my face. I have not tried Bare Minerals. So I am still using the same tinted moisturizer I’ve used worn for years, but most days I don’t even wear anything but a little concealer and mascara. Maybe a swipe of blush. I was wearing a Laura Mercier ’Candleglow’ pressed powder over it but it has been discontinued, so i has to look for something else.

Being in my 70’s I have read that makeup with a little luminesence is better for most my age because it brightens the skin and doesn’t settle in and show the deep wrinkles. I do have a slightly heavier ’weightless’ makeup from Bobbi Brown I use if going out or to some function. And I love my new pink tinted loose powder I’m trying from Jones Road.

I may still have a screen shot of some of the powders that were recommended if anyone is interested.

I have used the Laura Geller powder foundation but never by itself— just over the Drmtlgy tinted moisturizer or Erborian CC cream. My skin is much too dry for powder alone, so I have used it more as a light finish. However, I haven’t ised it in a long time as now that I’m using spf 50 and not tan st all the color I have is too dark. Every day I use either the tinted moisturizer (which itself is spf 46) or Erborian over the regular SPf (Aesop). If I really want more coverage I use a Dior foundation stick to dot my face and blend it with a brush.

Thanks eveyone. After I posted I read a few other reviews, all positive. Being in a mood for instant gratification…I know, dangerous …az said I could have it that very evening!

New question: Can makeup be returned? 🫣 All of you who reported it not covering sufficiently were 100% correct. Silly me for rushing. Sigh. Maybe my dd will like it.

So. Back to the impossible? Hunt for coverage of:

melasma , brown spots, etc, that doesnt look like a mask and

‘accentuate lines. You all are ’da best! ‘Appreciate you’ (NFL speak :)

^^^martinca...I would start the return process on az. It won't hurt to try. Looking forward to hearing from others as to what they use for better coverage.

I have returned makeup to Az before, no problem. It might depend on the seller, though.

Annnnd I have also ordered the Laura G to try and now wonder if I, too, will be returning it.

My everyday makeup is Dr Jart BB Cream. It has 40 spf. Not as much coverage as a foundation, but it doesn’t accentuate my old-lady lines like foundation does. I have yet to find a traditional foundation that doesn’t make me look older than I am, so I just accept that my skin isn’t going to look flawless (haha as if it ever did). For special occasions I do wish I had something with a little more coverage, but so far no luck.

What I've started doing since I'm getting older and do have a few fine lines, I use less foundation and just spot cover with concealer on dark spots etc. I don't want a heavy foundation over my entire face. I do use a mineral makeup but not one of these, in fact the one I use has been discontinued. You could probably get Sephora and maybe even ULTA to make you a tester sample to take home and try. I know they used to always do that for you if you asked.

I saw an ad for Bobbie Brown that looked intriguing ... of course that's what ads are supposed to do.

Neutrogena has several tinted moisturizers. I'm currently using this one. It is light coverage, but it works for me - with a little concealer when needed. I have also considered trying the DRMTLGY one, but I was torn on which finish to try and whether I believe one shade suits all.

Annie, I'm sure I've seenthe same Bobbie Brown and Jones Road ones. I was all ready to try Jones ROad when I read repeated comments about being gooey or sticky and everything I do not need in a humid climate.
