kitchen wall paint

I have a narrow kitchen which leads to small eating space and then into a narrow galley. There are many windows here, but shadow the walls in between them.
I want to paint the exterior wall a warm color with a contrasting interior wall opposite this. Cabinets are Kraftmaid translucent driftwood. Kitchen island and galley are Kraftmaid bonsai. Countertops are fantasy brown granite. Backsplash is a textured neutral tile. Lighting over island has 3 pendant lights with daylight colored bulbs.
I’m looking at Sherwin Williams colors: quartersawn oak, wheat penny or tanbark for exterior walls and moth wing for contrasting wall.
I also need to decorate the wall between the sliding door and large window. Can’t use anything with depth because it is a narrow space. Also, I like to use things on the wall that have special meaning, not something picked up at box store.

Just a general comment…painting all of the kitchen area walls a color similar to the cabinets will make the whole room feel wider. It would also contrast nicely with the light wood shelves. It would also make whatever you put on the decor wall pop. As far as wall decor, a grouping or gallery wall of favored objects, art or prints or a combination thereof, related to kitchen/food/dining, such as: wood cutting boards or photos of the best food that you’ve made, or photos of your family eating their favorite foods.

Your corners and perimeter are dark and in the shadows ... easily solved with more lighting. I would look at installing recessed lights in the kitchen and "hallway" space. Get better lighting first, before looking at any paint colors.

I have under counter lights already. They work well.

The kitchen seems dark in your photos therefore I suggest a light paint colour and more lighting above the island, I'm showing 2 models depending on the size of the island. A lighter colour on the dining chairs upholstered seats would also help.

    I wish photos worked better…
I have a light color on the walls now, but it makes the room “feel” sterile. Was looking for something to warm it up. Light over the island is fine, but I agree some recessed ceiling lights would enhance the space.
    I appreciate all the suggestions!!!

I totally understand your wanting a deep rich color, but your samples seem very orange comapred to your cabinets. Believe it or not, in low light (limited natural light) the SW Moth Wing is plenty dark and rich, why not paint the body in that color and choose a creamy lighter tone for your wall? I too have the Kraftmaid Driftwood in my laundry room, it reads more green taupe than orange/rust taupe.

@lbennett1669 All depends on the white you presently have on your walls, pure whites can look sterile, you need a warm white. Here are a few BM's. Whatever colour you decide on, make sure you test the colour before starting your project.

Lynn, would you send a pic of your room with the driftwood cabinets so I can visualize another idea?

... the cabinet sitting on the butcherblock was added later and I tried a homemade stain mixture so it doesn't match the factory fininsh of the others. I chose the orangey butcher block because it was cheap, not because I liked the color... maybe that is what you like, but I think it is too much orange for walls...

I DO like your SW Moth Wing with the cabinets.
