Floof- What are you bad at?

I just tried to stain a plant stand. I hated the project and it looks awful. There are things I'm good at doing, this is not one of them. How about you?

Drawing, painting and most sports. I am not the most coordinated, with some depth perception issues. It really bothered me when I was young. Over time not as much, although I would love to be able to play pickleball passably, it is quite popular with my friend group.

Finances. Baking. If I learn more about the science of it, I would have better outcomes.

I can’t draw or paint anything thay looks remotely like art. Does painting a wall count? Way back when, I painted rooms in a lot of houses we lived in. I was very meticulous about it and maybe too much so.

Also, I’m not very good at most crafts, except at one time I was pretty good at embroidery, crossstitch and needlepoint and dabbled a little in Calligraphy. Now a computer can do that!

Catching or hitting a ball. Higher math: advanced algebra, trigonometry, or calculus in the abstract. (I could do it when I took physics for some reason, kinda.)

Anything that requires crafty or artistic talent

I am a terrible dancer and I cannot sing at all.

I was going to say I am not athletic, but I am an ok skiier and ok swimmer. I think Pal's phrasing "catching or hitting a ball" is more apt.

Small talk with strangers. Give me a mission that I can make conversation around and I'm all over it but chit chat in a room full of strangers with no grounding and I'm heading for the corner! As I say that, I've definitely gotten better at it over the years but I still don't like it.

    Sports. Remembering people’s names. Hearing.

The last two have a not insignificant overlap.

The key, I was once advised, is that it is *small* talk. It need not be anything original or interesting. It is just a warm up. Don't overthink it. When you talk with someone, you are expressing interest in them. That is the only mission of small talk. Just a toe in the water. No substance needed.

Music. Can't sing well and was never really able to successfully play a musical instrument or even enjoy doing it. I do like listening to music, but more as a background rather than thriving on it like some people seem to.

    Starting a project.

Conversely, stopping work when I’m invokved in a project. Doesn’t everyone have a late supper at 11:00 PM, (when not in Spain), or try to garden in the dark?

Any sport that involves a moving ball: basketball, tennis, softball, volleyball. Golf and pickeball are not too bad, but I'd rather do fitness things that do not involve a ball.

And I cannot sing or play an instrument either. Gosh knows I've tried.

I am very bad at learning new languages.

I have a good memory for facts but not if they contain numbers! Strings of numbers especially.

No one would want to listen to me sing.

I do not have good hand/eye coordination, so I'm not good at most sports.

I can't draw, but I do OK at other crafts. Can't draw a straight line without a ruler!

    Math.

I love music, but I cannot play any instruments. I've tried.

Remembering names. I never forget a face, but I'm bad with names. It's embarrassing at times.

My work schedule is rather flexible, so my time management skills could be better. I'm often finishing up a project at 10 pm that could have been completed at 10 am.

Sports. Math. Drawing. Knitting (I try, though). Public speaking. Making phone calls. Being brave about anything medical or dental. Putting together Legos or any other sort of building kits. Parallel parking. Initiating difficult conversations.

    Dancing. I have no rhythm.

I am directionally challenged, and the older I get the worse it is. Dancing, singing. I love to sing, though, so I do it in my car where noone has to listen to me.
