My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Patchwork of the Crosses

I finally finished this little Patchwork of the Crosses. It’s about 99% hand pieced (I tried the hybrid method in Linda Franz’s book, but it didn’t seem to be any faster than hand piecing) and quilted on my domestic machine. It’s 25” square. The hexagons are 1” on each side.

I enjoyed making it but can’t imagine doing a bed-sized one! I’m not a fan of fussy cutting, either - it seems very wasteful to me.

    Char, I used a running stitch. I used a program called InkLingo to print the shapes on a lot of the pieces. It prints seam lines and matching points on the back of the fabric, which makes it very easy to piece with running stitches.
