Post the 2 dimension plan for the kitchen. Every foot and inch noted. Is it a new build? Post that. Is it a remodel? Is the remodel begun or not? If not? Post the CURRENT kitchen, every foot and every inch of everything, and the plan for the new. Add Jpegs. every angle.

Kitchens are more than any room in the house, very exacting spaces, They are appliance driven, storage driven..... Clearances matter, where everything goes, for function, comfort and good looks matters: ).

Show us the layout . IMO the range and vent go where the vent is clsest to a straight line to the outside . If you want the hood to be the star then the whole kitchen needed to be designed to make that happen. You do not now redesign to handle that. Who is designing this kitchen ? I design kitchens around applainces often but long before the cabinets are chosen . Now the big issue is where are the nice big drawers being installed to be on both sides of the range too.

what else is next to the range? You say it is the focal point, is there an island centered on it or a doorway, How about photos from the other room loocing in to the "focal point".

and is it on an outside wall for ventilation or will you have a duct run to the outside through the cabinets?
