The dimensions are pretty much unreadable. Are there 2 bathrooms with double entrances? I would not use that for the two small bedrooms.

We need to read the meausrements so clearly mark all of them then repost here in a comment in jpeg format. I do not think the other post needs to be deleted since it is dealing with the exterior . IMO a space needs a purpose or forget it so what will you use the bonus room for ?

I do not know why either. I was getting so much help and appreciated all of it. I am

new to all of this. I appreciate your input on posting guidance also!

If the wall came down to where i drew a purple line it would be large enough for a bedroom. it would just be a bonus room for now. the problem i keep running into is the windows where to put kitchen and island. theres also enough space for a butler pantry. large family so the small bedrooms and bathrooms work.

You are seeing this is person, even on paper. We are seeing it on a screen. dimensions are as legible as smashed Rice Crispies.

Print it, hand write them in......walls, windows passages etc.

    Spare a scrawled purple wall........

Still don't know what existing looks like except from what I remember from a single photo of the Kitchen. Looking at your elevation thread, the farthest room in back by the new Powder Room is apparently a Garage, not a bonus room that you had said. I don't know if you are asking for a new bonus room to add, and what function is "bonus." I still don't know what is new vs old, for instance the interior of the bedroom "wing" is drawn as new and the hallway from that last picture is different, but you had said you weren't touching the bedrooms because it was a previous remodel. So the info is too sparse and mismanaged to get any traction of advice.

I still cannot wrap my head around keeping the windows. You are doing a remodel for maybe $500K-$1mil to top off the roof, gut the entire walls so you can add another 1' or 2' to the height, opening up a $50K-$80K corner impact slider, adding a front porch, yet can't move or change sizes of 2 banks of windows to benefit the plan which is clearly compromised as proposed?

    Thank You,

this is what I needed to hear we will move

windows as needed. the garage is past that door the space along pool was a bonus room, originally where the kitchen was but we moved it during remodel 1. i know its alot but hurricanes and disasters have put us here so we can only do so much... currently we have a mansard roof tha has failed over and over again and due to leaks and mold we lost everything and here yet again. This is why we are changing trusses to a gable.

Initially we added the french door to play room and a pantry which is behind the green wall

you see in the photos but that is going to make the space work better. i hope these photos help visualize. Thank you.

Myranda - who is doing your planning - do you have an architect or designer helping you? What are your limitations with moving plumbing around? It would be helpful to see a plan of what your old kitchen looked like so we knew were things used to be.

Would something like this approach work? If that rock wall is staying in the entry you would be best to not interrupt it with a wall. Maybe a slat wall to separate the dining area and entry. Not sure if you are keeping the old kitchen window or replacing it with sliders to the pool? If you replace with sliders you could have a cabinetry wall along the pantry wall that I am showing. Tried to keep all of your windows as is.

And if you choose to keep your old kitchen window and do the beverage center - I assume your old sink was along that wall? I’d do a bar sink there for sure.

Thinkdesignlive you have NO idea how much I appreciate you! i am beyond happy to pay you. i was not able to message you. yes we have hired big time and I am not happy with it. we did plan on putting a slider there but honestly I am open to any and all at this point.

No money exchange needed. This is a hobby for me at this stage of life. Glad you liked the idea. Have your architect / designer draw it to scale to make sure everything shakes out. I’m a little willy nilly at times. Good luck - it sounds like you all have been through a lot!

Couple of tips - if you decide to do the beverage center by your old kitchen window know that in addition to a sink you can customize your drawers to hold your cups and mugs. If you can squeeze a dishwasher there too for just these items it makes putting everything away even easier. They make 18” wide dishwashers or a drawer dishwasher which would be the right scale for that area. If you decide you need this area to be more of a workhorse you can downsize the window slightly in order to fit a storage hutch or overhead cabinets on each side of the window.
