Loose intact nails on roof — is this normal?

I happened to look out today and saw that we have loose intact nails on the roof shingles, and was wondering if they were pushed out of the shingles, potentially due to the roof expanding and contracting from 2 heavy snow storms in the last couple of months? The roof is only a little over a year old.

I assume this is not normal and should be corrected so it doesn't lead to leaks? It's not the best picture but it's hard to get a good contrast to show the nails.

Happens all the time when a UFO hovers over the house while doing biological experiments on the owners. It has a hybrid anti gravity electromagnetic engine that pull the nails out.

You're right it's not the best picture. contact acouple local roofers that can see it in rel life and advise you.

The nails have been on the roof since it was installed. Nothing to worry about.

Its possible the roofer left a few nails, and they have been hidden up there, until you got the 2 storms, and they managed to move around. Its unlikely, they worked their way loose on your roof. I would however, remove them, so they dont fall down and lay around in your yard.

Where there's one, there will be others (loose nails, not UFOs) so it would be prudent to have someone inspect roof to determine if there are other nails "partly" worked out. That will tell you if those are mavericks let laying on roof or if they worked themselves out. If indeed worked themselves out, a new roof should be installed by original contractor which will likely require threat of lawsuit.
