massive kitchen - need to compartmenalize and remodel

As you can see this room is absolutely massive. It’s a small kitchen from the 50s that had the wall removed to build a large “dining room”, but they kept the original cabinets and just upgraded the appliances and counters. I’ve had thoughts from gutting it and installing an IKEA kitchen to remodeling with vintage appliances. The weird brown cabinet may have houses a wall oven or something like that. I could see making the “dining room” which is the space under the ceiling fan into a family room and drop-zone/mudroom area. I’d need shoe/coat/bag organization, seating, maybe a coffee table that raises into a desk, and other storage. OR, I could keep that space a dining room as it was intended and put an island in the kitchen. The short story here is that it’s a massive space that doesn’t function well for us. Love the large end wall for a big piece of furniture or modular storage. Would prefer to keep a TV here somewhere but it can be any size.
