SZ will last a long time. The 48" GE built-in is made in the US in Louisville KY. It has a single compressor and evaporator system, unlike SZ.

SZ can be expected to provide parts and service for their units far beyond the timeline of Haier/GE as well as most
other appliance manufacturers today. That old adage applies in this case, “buy once, cry once“.

I'd say in this case you get what you pay for. I saved a few thousand once by not getting a SZ - big mistake. Moved out of that house and the next time around I bit the bullet and bought SZ. It is a thing of beauty in both form and function. Get the SubZero.

Honestly, Sub-Zero is known for long-term reliability and can often last 20+ years, while brands like GE Café are good but typically don’t match that lifespan. If you want peace of mind, Sub-Zero is worth it. Otherwise, consider alternatives like Monogram or Thermador for a balance of cost and performance.
