If so, the kitchen could end up quite monochromatic with all off-white-creamy yellow-beige colors, which is fine if that is the look you want to end up with.

I would pay for a full size sample tile and then carry that tile to slab yards, to find the right Taj Mahal quartzite slabs. Or order a couple of 12x24 tiles, if it comes in that size it will be easier to carry.

Also make sure you know what the Variation rating is for that tile. V1 all tiles are quite uniform all the way to V4 where there is a lot of variation in color between tiles.

Reconsider tile as a floor material. I would choose vinyl over tile. It is very hard on backs/hips/knees, impossible to keep clean, and not everyone likes the look so it could adversly affect the resale value of your home. Other options include hardwood, marmoleum (linoleum), cork, or vinyl. Matching the flooring in the rest of the house might be a good choice.

Not enough context to your question. What is the flooring in the rest of the house? What is this room open to? What is the mud entry flooring, the family room.

What does the kitchen look like? Is it a remodel, a new build.

Most important, "what it looks like in the home of another, matters little. It matters only how it looks in your home.. your lighting, and with all other in your kitchen. especially your slabs of Taj Mahal, which vary greatly.

As to the flooring? Before a commitment, you buy a couple boxes, more manageable size. You lay it out with the other samples, and take a few pieces with you to your slabs. In person.
