I would advise you and your friend to look into something that matches in finish, but that they can use comfortably and easily. For me, that would mean being able to get at least one finger all the way through the pull. Colonial shows a lot of options that would fit that requirement. It is so hard to find pictures of pullout units with slab fronts to be able to visualize how it looks. Most of the pull out pantries are shaker. Not sure why.

This one looks strange to me smack dab in the middle of the unit, but it might be the most natural location for your hand to reach to.

I think center of unit, but vertical, might be optimal.

A lot of hand wring over nothing. There are a dozen sleek pulls on that site that will work, and nobody will stare and ask why not a style match to the rest.

Why that finish.....I have NO idea. Ugh.

@JAN MOYER, I concur that there are plenty that will look fine. But where do you place these kinds of pulls and in what direction, both so it is ergonomically smart and isn't strange looking as the only pulls on a kitchen of slab fronts?

I was thinking something this. Is that smart function wise? Neither I nor my friends have ever had a pull out pantry units before.

I urged a black metal finish, which will go well with their honed black countertops, but they want this metal finish so it blends into the wood cabinets. Many choices I would not have made in this kitchen.

The first mistake was a pull out pantry.

The second mistake was the selection of a tab pull, that clearly could not be repeated on the pull out pantry.

The third was a two toned kitchen......

The fourth is a not great selection for hardware finish, that appears to be attempt to match a stain , but won't and call it near miss.

The fifth is why are YOU worrying about this , given it is not your kitchen, not your hand that needs to find the necessary pull comfortable for the hands of other, , let alone attractive?!

Soooooooo.......

Either decide different pulls for all the other.....

Or tell your friend to order one each of a half dozen for a comfort test,

Then place it center, in a logical/ ergonomically friendly to her spot, vertically, and get on with life.

Re think ALL the hardware- use a very sleek pull, and use it HORIZONTALLY / center/ bottom on all uppers, lower drawers are center upper and pantry where comfortable, . On the face of all, and move on.

Kendrah, you are a good friend to help her with this. May I offer a bit of experience for you to consider passing on to her? That looks as if it is going to be a one-side entry to the contents since it slides out across that door into the room. So, if it's two-sided (i.e, has top and bottom slides) she'll have to have the door open, and be standing in the adjacent space, in order to access the wall side of the pullout. If it is instead a one-sided entry (i.e. horizontal wall-mounted slides on the left), then she will be able to access from the kitchen without issue.

In either case, there is an appliance (likely a fridge or freezer, or stacked W/D if in Europe?), and that appliance is going to exhaust a Lot of Heat as it operates day and night. That will significantly shorten the shelf life and qualiity maintenance of the foods in her pantry!

If there is still time, and you think it welcome, you might advise her to re-consider that space and use it for mops, brooms, vacuum if it will fit, cleaning supplies, polishes, appliance manuals, and similar items that won't suffer as much from the constant heat. If she can still custom configure or modify the pullout storage design, she can have both long-tall, and some shelves, baskets, or hooks in there as she chooses.

One last bit of reminder, she will need to have the pullout face trimmed to slide easily over the full length of travel so it doesn't bind up, or damage the floor, when the wood swells with seasonal humidity.

@JAN MOYER - Worry is the wrong word. Perhaps better question is: "Why are you inquiring about this?" The answer is friendship.

They are the dear friends who answered my 3 AM call and they sat with me in the ER when my husband was in dire straights. They've held my hand in surgical waiting rooms, visited us last year when we lived near my mom to help with her cancer treatment, and she'll stay with us next month to help my husband care for me after I have major surgery. So when friends like this ask, "Do you know what handle makes sense here and how to place it?" the very least I can do is say, "No, but I'll ask if others have the answer."

Can you not think of friends you have in your life that you'd help in small or large ways? I am so lucky to have five of them.

Yes..... my help knows no bounds.............!! But I would not wring a hand. I would just say here's what others suggest. I do this when my own dear sister is worrying on minor to major issues, that in the end, only someone else can decide. Their hands, just are not....yours.: ) Nor is their strength exactly same.

I think that the issue of heat coming from a refrigerator is overblown. Most appliances are insulated to avoid these kinds of long-ago problems. My refrigerator is right next to my ovens, and it's not a problem. The hot stuff stays hot and the cold stays cold.
