Is that hardwood in the bathroom?

Yes it is hardwood, it was already there, we decided to leave it.

for such a small bathroom, I'd stick with polished chrome hardware, frameless beveled mirror, and little to no contrast in paint colors, meaning, walls and trim(s) all the same color.

This could be interesting. Do you have a window? A really well functioning fan? If you are using this space daily for showering there will be a lot of moisture that won’t be good for the flooring.

There is a great fan above the tub and it will not be used daily as we have our ensuite and we are empty nesters. Though, the next owners, if we ever sell, may want to re think the floor. However, you are right this will be interesting!

+1 to @Lyn Nielson advice - love chrome fixtures with white cabs and wood floors, the reflection is nice for baths without windows

The Z light is too much of a boob light for my tastes.

I'm not feeling the black and white contrast in this small bath. It feels too harsh. I like an arched or circular mirror. It's a nice curve to add to the space. I'm much more in favor of polished chrome hardware and fixtures in a small white bath. It gives a classic shine which lights up the space nicely.

Will there be any lighting above or on either side of the vanity mirror?

The faucets are nickel, i am still deciding on mirror colour, though it will be arched, also deciding on ceiling light. There is not enough room for sconces on fhe sides of the mirror. However, i may look into a light fixture fixture above it.

There is no window.

I am open to light and mirror suggestions.

Nickel is a pretty finish - i’d do the light also with nickel finish and a simple mirror with a nice shape (just showing for the mirror shape idea)

FYI - my daughter has wood floors in both of her bathrooms (one is a tub/shower combo and the other had just a shower stall). The wood floors run throughout the entire house (and are original - the house was built in the 40s).

She also has littles (4 yr old + 15 month old) = the floors have had splashes of water hit them. The floors still look fine (they've lived in this house for about 4 1/2 years). Also, she just has a little window (inside the tub/shower) that opens to vent the room (although, they are changing the tile surround in a couple weeks and decided to remove the little window + add a vent). Both bathrooms are used daily. The primary bathroom had a vent added when the attic was converted into a primary suite (prior to her and my SIL purchasing the home).

Also, my SO has a very nice home in Santa Monica that has beautiful wood floors that continue through his primary bathroom (tile in the other three guest bathrooms). There is a shower + a beautiful freestanding tub area - and his floors look the same as when installed 7+ years ago. Not as impressive since there are no children using the bathroom, however, I just thought I'd share another example of a bathroom w/ wood floors that haven't been ruined.

I like the mirror you show above. The different shape counter the geometric shapes on the vanity and soften it up.

Yes to the Glasholm frameless mirror you posted! Winner. It will add a lot of interest to the room without adding the bulk of a black frame. There are wall lights I can imagine above it, whereas I would not add a light centered above the arched mirror you posted.

I'd get a very simple ceiling light with nickel accents like this one. It will mostly disappear, which is fine. Let your shower curtain and hardware be the interest in the room rather than something on the ceiling.
