Question of aisle dimensions and "maze" like kitchen ...then second issue of beam. I mght opt for a peninsula coming from the drawer area left of sink . Beam at end of peninsula in other words. A peninsula will allow seating...your island cannot have stools because youll want minimum 45 in aisle on sink side and 39 inch walkway aisle on non sink side.

I'd be very nervous about plan you show.

Do you have a measured floor plan?

The room may be just the right size for a peninsula as herbflavor shows, not an island.

Is the 6 burner stove something you always wanted or needed, compared to the standard 4-burner stove?

Just over 13x12. I cook ALOT which is why I prefer the 36 6 burner.

Beware of the refrigerator at the end being too close to the wall to open beyond 90°. And take into account the fridge handle. You will need a spacer, which could be a tall pullout cabinet (think broom, dustpan, swiffer)

No, that addition is for a small bathroom over the master. Yes, i hate the fridge by the wall but it was really the only functional place to put it. I do like the pullout cabinet idea! I will definitly be using that.

If the pain of the post is too much, I see in the other thread you are remodeling the exterior, and have an addition planned? Surely then there are decisions that can be made to allow a bigger beam (say, forego until another time a new overhead garage door). I see a 12'-4" span (or 10'-2"), which typically doesn't need steel, unless you are looking for a flush beam and have 70psf snow loads and a second floor.

Yes, we have worked extensively with an architect. In short, this is our best option when factoring cost and other priorities.
