Spring has come early this year

After a heatwave last week, everything is ahead of schedule, so I'd like to share a few pictures.

These roses are amazing! I hope to enjoy Irene Bonnet’s flowers in the future. How long did it take your plant to become established? I love the many shades of pink!

Beautiful. La Belle Sultane is one of my favorites, too.

@jjkOC zone 10a/22, SoCal If memory serves, it was quick to get established, maybe four or five years. Once it started growing, it shot up quickly. I forget what the phrase is about climbing roses, but it followed that pattern. I overcrowd everything, so it fought for its position.

OMG! Irene Bonnet is literally a wall of roses! Incredible!!! I also love Erinnerung an Brod with lemons! I am planning to plant Deuil du Dr Reynaud against the fence beside my Meyer Lemon tree. I hope it will look just as pretty!

    Beautiful photos.

Our spring has been kind of odd. We had a warm February, so that the late winter/early spring flowers opened a couple of weeks early. Then the weather turned chilly again, which wrenched the flowering schedule back to something more nearly normal. I'm glad it's still cool, and am hoping that the lilacs and kerria starting to open now aren't early--I think they're right--and am glad that the roses haven't yet begun to flower. Not even the Lady Banks roses! Except that 'Purezza' up in the handsome Leyland cypress has its first blooms, bless its beautiful heart. Nothing yet from 'Sanguinea', usually one of the first to open. 'Vanity' managed to keep a few flowers going all winter, which reminds me to propagate it, as it looks promising for a moderate climber. Anyway, we could use some rain, but all in all, it's good.

It's been an odd spring here too, after the heat wave, it went back to rainy and cool. I took some pictures today after a good soaking rain last night. My camera battery is now recharging to recover from all the photos I've been taking, so I will pause.
