if you have a standard size window, lowes carries pre-made wovens to fit specific sizes. Measure top middle and bottom on the INSIDE, as well as height to get your dimensions.

solar shades/roll down shades, inset, would also work.

flat sheer shade

try Blinds.com for inexpensive brands, or budget blinds. I like blinds.com. got many blinds from them.

silouette or pirouettes are another

Classic sheer off-white curtains (not grommet). You can take them with you when you move. Use the blinds that are up already with the sheers.

How about wooden blinds that match the trim?

Since you said temporary home I would hang ready made side panels or sheers over the windows and leave the roller shades you have. I personally would not spend money that will not give me any return on investment. I rather put that money into the new home.

I agree with ^ @Beth H. : Bamboo blinds for a more casual modern look... top down, bottom up INSIDE mount on each window separately. Blinds.com is a great source. large assortment of color options to compliment the window trims and flooring. WHILE YOU BUILD... the next occupants will thank you.
