We have a lot of leather due to two very hairy Australian Shepherds. I think it is much more interesting when the pieces don’t match. i love celery’s first inspiration. The right rug can pull it together. Just make sure the rug is big enough.

If the color is most off with the couch, move it away from the couch. Then do your throw, rug, etc.

With the doggies I think washable rugs will work. I’ve purchased them from Ruggable, they really are washable, recently bought one from another vendor on Amazon for a guest room that’s very low profile & surprisingly, lies flat without a pad.

It takes some work on the part of the human, but dogs can be trained!

I find the color of the recliner less objectional than the sofa. Just not a fan of the reddish tone.

A caramel leather sofa is a classic. I like it.
