This house looks familiar. Did you post here before? Is your front door where the arrow is pointing? If so, that spot needs to be kept clear.

It appears that a logical spot for a potted hydrangea is where the settee is placed. A small hydrangea would need a 4’ round spot.

Good eye! It was all posted last year when the patio was being built:). Yes, the door is where the arrow is. Do you think I should sacrifice 4 feet round for the Hydrangea, or do you have other suggestions to complete the look?

If you put a small hydrangea in a pot, the pot should be 16”-24” in diameter. A small variety like Little Lime will grow to 3’-5’ around. If you think want to go that route, get a big piece of cardboard and cut out a 4’ circle. Lay it on your patio, arrange your furniture around it, and see what you think.

Have you considered installing a simple trellis in the half-moon area? I don’t know what the sun exposure is there so I can’t recommend a vine to climb the trellis. See example below.

I would mention that the selection of color for your pavers doesn't work with your home. You can stain them a deeper hue. It will provide a better backdrop for your entry patio. I might consider adding a similar color to the garage door.

I do not think an evergreen in a pot is going to last more than one season. I would remove pavers in the corner in order to actually install some type of column shaped evergreen that can withstand all the shade.

Then I'd border your patio in perenialls that come back every year or a border hedge.
