This is the poster child for cozy relaxation. Love that you have books on your bookshelf - a novelty these days. Any one of these pieces of furniture would be meh on its own and yet in here the rugs and wall color pull it all together. The Lynard Skynard poster is the cherry on top.

My first thought was what a cozy space that is. I very much like the colors and I love the rug. I can totally see how relaxing it would be to curl up with one of those books and a cup of tea or glass of wine with that adorable cat purring in your lap. Love everything about it!

By the way- for Sandra- there was nothing “constructive” in your criticism.

That room is inviting anyone to “sit down and read a book with a crocheted blanket on you”! Wow. Warm, dramatic and good color.

Love your livingroom. It shows life is being lived. Pets, plants, books, tv etc. - I prefer that to a minimalist look.

I love the comfortable, traditional leaning room. However, I would consider changing out the coffee table. It doesn't look like it's enough for the room.

The trend seems to be that we're headed back to these comfortable, 'decorated' rooms of the early 70s. They're not inexpensive to do, but respond well to thrifted items that are hitting the market now that all the Boomers estates are being sent to resale shops.

What a beautiful space! It isn't particularly large, doesn't even have high ceilings, and no element is grand or fancy -- but every single detail comes together to work in perfect harmony. It's cozy and welcoming. The lighting, the molding, it all creates a perfect vibe. Honestly, I think the color is the biggest feature that brings it together. It's not a color I particularly favor, but it so absolutely works here that I want it myself!

I like the two small accent lamps on the fireplace mantel (one is lit, one is not). Are these battery operated lamps?
