Taj Mahal advice

After going to 6 different stone places (I work full time and this was very difficult to do) and running into - we will talk to your fabricator not you, I finally found 2 slabs that I loved. It’s a big investment. My niece whose house looks like a Pinterest board saw the pics that said these don’t look like Taj (she means insta pics) and if in aren’t going with the traditional look, you shouldn’t pay the premium for this stone. I like a creamier than a biege look and I prefer a calm stone over one that has a lot of movement. But back to, it is a big investment so I don’t just want to get what I like (many will say your house do what you want). I would like to strike a balance if possible and o would love input of more than my young niece. Here are pics of the slabs, please give me your input. Also, I am astounded by fabrication costs in Dallas - I have been quoted $9K for the 2 slabs. Any input there will be helpful- I have yet to “buy and pay”.

I al also don’t think they look like Taj Mahal. They look more like the Dolce Vita marble we used in our bathroom.

Thank you for commenting on my slab, $9k sounds like a good deal to me. I only need one slab and with fabrication costs it is $8,600. I am in RI so maybe things are just more expensive here. Your slab looks nice and seems to have a nicy creamy color. Just be careful because of the movement in the stone you may need more slabs or extra cuts to get everything to flow nicely. That is why I went with a more consistent flow. Good luck on your project!

It doesn't look like the many Taj Mahal slabs that I've seen.

Here are photos of two Dolce Vita Marble slabs that I saw when slab shopping back in 2021.

Your slab looks closer to this than the Taj Mahal quartzite I have seen and purchased.

Look up the old Geology threads by karin_mt that describe some easy tests you can do at the slab yard to determine if this is marble or quartzite.

Do not blindly believe the sales people at the slab yards. Many are misinformed and some just lie to get a sale.
