Looking for wall color

I want to have my kitchen walls painted, but need advice about colors that would compliment my granite countertops:

overall shot of my very small kitchen, 10X10

Thanks for any Paint suggestions. Not looking for other comments about redesigning.

Thanks.

I really like the wall color you have now! Stunning.

Would you be open to a yellow/gold?

What direction do you want to go with the new paint? Lighter? The color that you have is bold and warm. What feeling do you want to invoke with a new color?

Will advise you to pick a color that will coordinate with the floors and the countertops but will provide some contrast with your cabinetry - a warm, pale yellow perhaps. You can always get some large pieces of cardboard and paint those with some samples from your local paint store.

These colors might be a consideration for you:

    This is SW Still Water

    SW Olympic Range

And if you want to keep it close to your cabinet color:

Whatever you do, I'd suggest painting the small strip of wall above the sink to match the cabinets. To me it seems odd to have that little strip of color in that area. Cute kitchen!

It’s important to consider the cabinets and the flooring also, so think about colors that will be complementary overall and if you prefer lighter or darker. Bring home lots of paint chips, narrow down and then buy test pots of your favorites so you can compare during different times of the day.

The background cream in your granite will work to tie together cabinets, flooring, and countertops. All three need to be takien into account. Palette like yours:

Consider painting the table and chairs to match the new wall color or restain them to match the cabinets. You have too many finishes right now that aren't playing well together: cabinets, walls, floors, table and chairs.

I would order samples through samplize, com - so much easier and better than painting on your walls.

I agree that SW Creamy may be really nice, but I would also look at BM Navajo White, SW Casa Blanca, BM Gentle Cream. They are different enough to help you decide which may be too yellow or too neutral within the cream family.

Other options could be a gray green like BM Gibraltar Cliffs or a blue like SW Favorite Jeans or Aleutian

Agree with freedomplace1’s suggestion. I also like F & B’s ”Hay”, but you need to sample in your space. ”cat’s paw”, lol, love F & B’s paint names, I have ”Mole’s Breath” in my house.

Thanks for all the suggestions! How silly of me to not say what I was looking for. I’m am looking to lighten the color on the wall. I have liked the spicy color for a while now, and am ready for a change.

There is no unpainted space above the sink area. The wall there has the granite as well, but just didn’t show up well on that photo. I am loving the gold/yellow suggestions. I do want to lighten the cabinets as well, but that’s down the road a bit.

Samplize will really help you to narrow down your choices, Then get samples or quarts of the finalists to try on different walls.

Check out White Blush from Benjamin Moore. It is a great warm white with a golden undertone and their Aura paint is dream to paint with

Have the walls primed with a couple coats of white primer. Then decide on the gold, yellow or ceam paint. The area around the sink's window that is currently painted salmon red would look more of a piece if painted the same white as the window trim.

Also, adding a couple hanging baskets with colorful blooming flowers to your fence will cheer up the view from the kitchen sink. In my area, real estate stagers have made this a popular idea.

This is a beauty for small rooms and a good partner with the red toned cabinets.

You decide first if you want to go lighter.
Id would go quite light if it were my kitchen as the cabinets are quite dark. Draw colors from your countertop. Bring in pics of your kitchen n countertop pics to a paint shop which offers interior design advice. The designer will be able to pick out some colors. So another initial decision to make your quest for color less confusing, is to choose a brand name of paint such as Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, etc. This will greatly cut down on the confusion as most brands have pretty much all similar colors. I wouldnt take more than 3 samples to choose from- 4 at the most as trying to choose between too many samples becomes too confusing and overwhelming. Put samples on your kitchen wall and leave for a few days so you can view them in different lighting as day progresses into night light After awhile, one of the color samples will become your favorite. You have beiges/off white/ grays/yellows in the countertop so it is quite versatile. Choose warm grays such as BM edgecombe gray ( this has grey n beige) so its one if the ‘greiges’.BM ballet white is not a white paint as such, more cream but nit yellow cream. It is a very versatile color.

Also, is it possible to replace the hanging lights in the window with recessed lights or surface mount recessed-looking lights. The window is not a large window and the area will look better with recessed lighting rather than hanging lights. Also, whatever wall color you choose, I would suggest painting the window trim same color. I just had a kitchen painted BM Fog Mist and the walls and all the trim were painted the same color.

I would look at cream or yellow paint samples.

We have similar counters..in a kitchen with lots of natural light…over time the counters got darker and darker ..so keep this in mind when you choose a wall color

We originally had dark brown cabinets…as the counters got darker over time…we chose to paint the cabinets a pale golden yellow to avoid the too dark combo…

We have a similar granite and cherry cabs and went with SW Baby Bok Choy. It looks great. They have a shade lighter called Shagreen.

You don't have to choose a color from your granite, just a color that coordinates with the granite, cabinets, and flooring. Do not choose a color that contrasts strongly with the dark cabinets in terms of lightness/darkness. Instead, choose something with a lightness/darkness between the cabinets and the counter/floors...a medium to dark color. You currently have a wall color that gives you an analagous color scheme, but the colors are spaced a bit far apart without filler colors in the same family for your decor. An easier alternative would be a triadic color scheme with a green. Your current colors are somewhat vivid, so I might lean into a grey-green. Consider something in the area of SW Rock Bottom.
