Yes, it would be for me, but my eyes are sensitive to glare.

I greatly dislike exposed bulbs of any kind…especially over a table, or island.

I don't have a problem with exposed candelabra bulbs, specially for a dining room chandelier, but my DH hates them. We also have recessed lights, so those get used daily and the fixtures with exposed bulbs are used for mood lighting (dimmed) when we entertain.

I have been testing LED bulbs since we moved into the new house in 2021. I recently found these and have replaced all the incandescent candelabra bulbs with them. Much less glare.

All my recessed lights are 3500K, but I bought the bulbs in 2700K which I think works better for exposed bulbs in chandeliers/pendants.

Most of us expect a chandelier to have that glowing warm candle effect and 4000K bulbs aren't going to ever give you that look/feeling.

Ideally you have layers of lighting for different tasks/activities.

Given open space of a dinette area, kitchen and island and great room, suggest considering the big picture so lighting is complementary. Choosing the same metal and a similar shape (rounded for instance) will help.

If concerned about glare over dining table, choose an appropriate design and place on a dimmer. Maybe take a look on line for combinations that appeal to you. If wanting suggestions, provide your overall style, size/shape of dining table, length of island and decor style. If it helps, my sister went to a large lighting store (with all of her details/needs) and they really helped narrow down options.

Make sure you size the light to the table and not the area. One half the width is the default.
