Chat GPT for hairstyles

last month

Have you tried it? I never use it for anything really, but got intrigued by the travel/packing help some of you were getting. I have a hair appt next week and am bored with my hohum bob. When I first grew out my short pixie style, I kept telling myself, no soccer-mom bob, but that’s pretty much where I’ve landed. It is easy but it’s boring. I think I need it shorter and maybe a few layers, more tapered (but not ”stacked”) in the back, maybe a little bang…not sure. Anyway, here are some pics I liked just searching pinterest.

I love this but I dont think my hair would behave this way.

So then I did Chat, and ”she” seems to agree with me. (Also, I uploaded a no-makeup pic of myself and was happy to see she referenced styles for ”women over 40” and not ”women over 80.” )

Of the pics Chat offered, the only one I like is the middle blonde one. But she probably didn’t spend as much time combing pinterest as I did. (Ha, combing! no pun intended)

Okay, that's fun! I could definitely see you rocking a shorter fringed bob!

    love this one ...

I need to cut off my length at some point ... but I am not ready to just yet. I am thinking fall/winter. My hair is so straight and fine that I don't know that I will have many options other than length but it would be fun to see what AI says.

Oh, I had this one too. Ha, I try to make sure I’m looking at older women and not just youthful things where I am attracted to the ”youth” vs the actual hairstyle.

  • last month

That sounds like fun. I might have to try it though I'm not really up for a different hairstyle. Mine is getting long while I await the appointment with my wonderful hair stylist in MN. For a fleeting moment I thought I could let it get a little longer and be at regular bob stage. Then I quickly remembered how much worse I look with longer hair hanging around my face.

  • last month

I think you can pull off any of these. My fav is #2 from the very top; I especially like the subtle highlights. Would give it a nice movement.

I have a hair appt Monday. I envy all of you who can wear these shorter styles! They just don’t work on me. I’ll have my normal long layers trimmed.

I’ve been going to a wonderful person for cuts for 5 years. I do my own color but always ask her to let me know when she thinks it’s not working.

Since my first post covid cut with her when she shortened to my normal chin length it has stayed the same. I almost feel that I am letting us both down by maintaining the same ubiquitous style.

I use Gemini instead of Chat for decorating mostly.

Sue, your next step is to put your face with those hairstyles!

  • last month

I often see cute haircuts with bangs hanging down over the eyes. That would drive me crazy.

  • last month

I actually used chatgpt last month for a radical hairstyle change and subtle color change. So cool that I could see how it all suited me beforehand. All I did was show my stylist the photo and voila!

  • last month

Chatgpt is fun for trying things on, so to speak. I havent tried it for hairstyles yet but I have redo orated my bedroom and relandscaped my fromt flower beds. I have yet to follow through on her suggestions.

My hair has gotten thin so it limits the hairstyles that would work. I wish I had hair as nice as in the pictures above.

I agree that the short french bob in the middle would be nice for you. Show us the finished product when you’ve done it.

  • last month

Oh that's a great idea! I've often wondered what I would look like with some whispy sideswept bangs. I should give it a try.

I have kept my hair relatively the same for many years. It's quite long and I think it just works for me. I have changed from middle part to side part and sometimes alternate between the two. Not very exciting!

  • last month

I have a thing where I have to change my hairstyle every 2 years or so. It makes me feel good. I also think stylists do better work when they don't fall into the rut of doing the same old thing every time.

  • last month

I actually thought, oh, this will be a fun little challenge for Heather (stylist) instead of ”just a trim.”

Because I have the free version of Chat, she won’t play with me any more today, but I did get one ”try on” out of her. Um, it is basically what my hair looks like now. Tomorrow, I’ll ask Ms Chat to see it a bit shorter…or more layers. Or use the term french bob. I said ”short bob with layers.”

I took the pic right out of the shower with my hair slicked back, and sorry but you cannot see me up close in that state.

I can't tell if you color your hair, but have you considered playing with some different highlights to oomph things up a bit?

  • last month

Oly, yes, I have had subtle highlights a few times and definitely considering for summer.

    I really like this color

  • last month

That’s the one I was talking about in my earlier post. So pretty.

  • last month

Love both the cut and color of that hairstyle - would look great on you Sue!

  • last month

That last one is my favorite, too. I agree that it would be a great look on you, Sue.

Sas, please share your hair! You can blurbyour face😊

Sue, Gemini is tied into our Google account. For the level I use, it is free and unlimited.

I also like the second haircut. I think we would both benefit by using a root lift product. My hair is longer than yours and will look great for a few days after my stylist works her magic. Recently, we discussed, then add some long layers on the sides and back. She also shortened, but still left long, around the face. One plus, it takes me less time to dry. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, according to her. I also have a LOT of new growth right now, so tiny hairs standing up on the top of my head. No, I am not taking or doing anything for this growth. I did shed a lot about 3mths ago, and she mentioned it at two appointments.

  • last month

Allison, I also have fine hair, but a lot of it!

Another interesting exercise is to look back at old pics of myself — I realized I do NOT want super-short pixies any more. Or real bangs. I have a colick right at my part which makes my bangs do a swoop thing. This is from a long time ago, my hair is thinner in front now and the swoop is more pronounced.

    Root lift product, any suggestions?

My ends always look dry, too, even right after a cut. I tried the Virtue hair oil but I’m not sure it did much for me. Sometimes a little paste/wax just on the ends helps, but it can feel sticky.

    I like the b/w photo, don't you?

    Love the color idea!

I think often one reacts to the styling of the hair moreso than the actual cut.

So the question becomes. Do you know how to style it that way? Will your hair cooperate? Are you willing to do what it takes to style is that way regularly?

For those reasons, I always find it best to ask a stylist in person what they suggest for me, rather than perusing media. I started wearing my hair much shorter about a year ago as a result. The only thing is it is a little too short to put up, which is my go-to.

My biggest issue, as I think is true for many women, is getting fullness and height. I like a discontinued Loreal prodcut for that but most importantly my hot brush. But it's so weird, my hot brush is hotter or cooler depending on where I plug it in. My best results are in our apartment for some odd reason. The brush runs very hot there. I have noticed this before that my hair was better in one house vs the other. When we had a lakehouse, my hair was its most glorious due to the water, even though we have well water in Maine too.

I have short hair but I refuse to call it a pixie which means a different style to me. But everyone is calling relatively short hair pixies these days so it's a losing battle. Anyway I have short layered hair, medium thickness and texture. I like volume at the crown and texture all over. Currently I'm using Moroccanoil Root Boost and it seems to provide lasting volume from shampoo to shampoo. It also could be that I have natural volume on top, but I credit the Moroccanoil product.

ETA: The AI faces can be a huge influence. I don't look like any of them, only wish I did. :-) I know my hair pretty well so I steer clear of styles that aren't practical or realistic. My hair will invariably do its thing and I prefer to give it the best conditions and lengths (layers are everything) to give it a chance to look good.

The other day I was at the doc's and as we finished up he said, do you have purple in your hair? I said, well, I use purple shampoo. It's not my goal to have purple hair, but I prefer it to yellow.

  • last month

Bunny, you have GREAT hair!! My stylist cautioned me about purple shampoo. She recommended a clarifying shampoo. i use acure and purchase it on Amazon, Ive never had a problem with yellow. She mentioned that sone people evidently have a problem with the purple shampoo buiilding up on the scalp, besides tinting the hair.

  • last month

The model pictures shared here are lovely but they also seem very aspirational to me. I’m thinking it would take more effort yhan product to attain those nice puffs and wisps. At least I have not figured out how to get there.

I use the Olaplex purple as my second lather (after Olaplex clarifying shampoo) and have never had a hint of purple. I thought it was for dyed hair to preserve the color— or rather, that is what I was told by my stylist 🤷‍♀️

SueB, I like your hair shorter!

  • last month

More chat fun. I like this. It isn’t earth shattering but feels a little more spunky than my all one length bob. This is about an inch shorter in overall length than what I have now. With highlights added.

Then tried it with a weird selfie with DS where I look slightly drugged. They seem to have decided to change my glasses a bit and add extra makeup. This photo creeps me out a little actually.

    Then tried with bangs.

I feel like I have a new toy.

  • last month

I like it and I think it is "you." GO for it.

  • last month

I agree-- the shorter length and highlights give you a carefree, sassy/spunky look! A great fit for your personality!

I will be real curious to see what products you bring in-- the waxes and pomades just don't work for me but I do use aveda voluminizing tonic. It helps but I'd like to find something softer (the tonic can be "crunchy" if I don't brush it out) and with more lift and texture.

When are we going to the salon with you?

Sue, Leanne Morgan just chopped off her long hair and has the cutest long bob. I think you two have the same face shape but her hair looks less thick than yours. Have chatgpt try this one!

@kswl your shampoo says its for colored or gray hair to remove brassiness. My guess is it works differently on colored hair vs gray hair.

I have ”mingled shades” of gray in my hair with some white streaks and even still some dark mainly underneath. What was explained to me was that the whiter shades, product build up is what causes the yellow/brassiness therefore the clarifying shampoo does the trick! It work for me!

I cut my hair and added some curtain bangs, so I say go for it. I wanted something fresh. It's only hair. It grows back.

Disclaimers: I can’t take a selfie without my healing nose situation glowing like Rudolph, so I took it at a weird angle. Also, I think it’s ”fine” but I never like the way she blowdries my hair, so I suspect I might like it better tomorrow. The receptionist said it was sassy, and that’s pretty much what I wanted!
