Sagging and fabric wear should be evaluated separately. Sagging is driven largely by the cushion core and suspension, while pilling, staining and abrasion depend more directly on the upholstery.

I would ask Crate & Barrel for the exact fiber content, abrasion result, pilling grade and cleaning code for View in Wheat—not just the Axis sofa generally. Also ask whether the cushions and covers are reversible or replaceable and what the cushion-core warranty covers.

Get the largest physical swatch available and view it beside your flooring in daylight and evening light. If you can obtain a spare swatch, test it only with the cleaning method Crate & Barrel specifies. Wheat may look quite different at home than it does under showroom lighting.
