Thank you Kate,. I pulled blooms in the light rain last night and then we got a light rain for a long time. We have had rain today, not heavy but most of the day; it started right as I was taking the last of my pictures, and It keeps starting raining for a good length of time stopping and repeating. We need the rain desperately and the lilies do soak it up.

The foliage is not pretty on my plants this year, but they are large, some of them quite large. Ah well, we are never totally happy, are we?

How lovely it all is. A sea of color. I particularly like the Achillea (red yarrow) in the first picture with the daylily. Pretty combination blooming together......We are getting rain also. The blooms on my first daylilies are looking sodden, so I'd like a little break. Because of the rain this is what my garden looks like below. Can't dance and too wet to plow as they say.....Maryl

Maryl, are you pleased with Romence plants? I always wonder what the size will be. Kay, I think that Debra was referring to the swath of red in the second picture. There are two reds next to each other. There is a nice red too in the far left of the third picture.

Debra, I am an idiot. Mantis let me know, so the swath of red you asked about was oldies Hearts of Fire and the the right (a bit darker) the NOID I was sent instead of the one I ordered.

That pic with the road in the background is what I always associate with your garden. And I marvel that the deer stay at bay. All the plants nicely spaced, with an inviting path, and not a weed in sight.

Mantis, we live in a small town and apparently there are no leash laws. At times, especially evening and early morning, dogs run along the road and occasionally into the yard. It used to make me unhappy but I have realized that those dogs are probably why there are no deer. WE have seen deer on the road a few times, but only once did they nibble a single plant (Roman Cohort when it was planted far from the road.) There is more traffic than one might expect on that little road.
