I like this Gilmour. Its held up very well over the years. That blue lever thing makes it very easy to turn off/on or change flow.

That wouldn't solve the pressure loss issue.

Leaking would/could do that. Thus the suggestion for the teflon tape.

If the holes in the head of a wand are too large, that might also cause a perceived loss of pressure. (What are you saying? That the spray is puny? Doesn’t go far?

It starts off as a nice, full spray pattern then after a few seconds pressure lost and a slower, steady stream of water (rather than a gentle shower-like pattern)

It might be clogged by sediment, IDK -- but I've never been very happy with the Dramm from the get-go.

We have well water and good water pressure (abundant water). Some years ago, the water pressure seemed to poop out. Turns out the well pump was showing signs of failing. It’s way way down in the well and fortunately it was not winter when the pump failed and we had to pull it.

Update: I got the Melnor one recommended above, I chose it because it wasn't too expensive and the "relax grip" sounded like something I would benefit from. It just came yesterday so too early to really comment much, but it does seem comfortable to grip and isn't leaking -- so far so good.

I also realized during the course of playing around with the hoses and attachments that the old-ish hose I was using on the patio (deck) was what was doing weird things with the water pressure. Not sure why that is, but I figured it out when I used the Dramm attachment with the brand-new Eley hose and watering cart to water the fruit trees, there was zero loss of pressure even when un-wound at 125 feet (the Dramm still leaked, though). So I hooked up some other nozzles to the hose on the deck and sure enough, loss of pressure with those, too. I ended up jimmy-rigging some short sections of old hose togther just for watering the pots on the deck, that's working well with no pressure loss. I just spend a buttload of money on my new Eley set-up so don't want to spring for another set-up for the deck , as long as the hoses hold for the rest of the year it's fine. (The Eley doesn't go on the deck, too cumbersome to drag up and own the steps to the deck)
