this is cute and would go with the traditional style.

I'd search for a rug to fill the space leaving 8" around the perimeter showing the floor.

Do you have other colors you are using in the home? a patterned rug maybe a border medallion look with a couple of colors on a light background. Show a picture of the entry door.

What is planned for the area at the top of the stairs?

Think of that as part of your Foyer decor too. That's the first things you'll notice on entering your home, make a grand. To draw your eye up. You already have the spot lights, you can direct them to the wall to accent if you change out the housing to an eye ball.

Where in the foyer are you planning to place the table and mirror? I hope it's not that wall to the right of the staircase. That's really too far away from the entry door.

Can you show other walls in the foyer?

HI Beverly, it's not as far as it looks in the picture. The table and mirror would go in that space next to the stairs.

So I need to know your style in the rest of the house . IMO the entry should be a peek at your house style .Waht is the size of that space since your pics are distorting it .

Maybe a round table with a lamp it is a bit dark in that corner and then apiece of art with some color . As for rug a mat right at the door and the width of the door and no where else and a really good mat outside the door . I do not see a coat closet so maybe by the door a few nice coat hooks too.

Id place a round table on small wall under stairs as Patricia suggested. Theres a lot of linear lines in the panels on walls so a round table will break up those lines. no closet in front entrance?? colorful art on wall opposite staircase.

I think this is impossible to answer, because there are endless options depending on what you need in the space (storage, seating) and the look you like.

Lori can you share one more photo? Standing in the room to the right of your stairs snap a shot facing the stairs so we can see the actual wall space of the stairway.

It looks like there is room for a console table at the door. So just place a nice tall plant in the stair corner.

IMO this is the best location for the table and mirror. You'll be able to use a wider console and larger mirror.

I agree with the above suggestion if feasible, as it would be more functional and welcoming. Art on other walls + a color coordinated rug will tie it all together.

We do have a closet for coats in this space.

The first thing anyone entering your house will see is that wall and staircase. I would do as others have recommended and get a round table. There are tons of photos for how to decorate it, but that would look very welcoming.

I'm obsessed with this rug and which I could find. This is a houzz photo inspiration by Delphinium Design. Anyone seen this rug online?

I have seen similar on Etsy. It’s probably an Oushak style. They have a lot of them.
