Some new parents might give you $50 for it on craigslist but other than that it doesn't seem to have any intrinsic value. It looks to be in very good shape.

So, I did an image search & wow! there are so many rocking horses still out there. Yours is called ”RARE HEDSTROM MY FIRST PONY TODDLER BOUNCY SPRING HORSE”. That came up on Worthpoint which requires a chat with an appraiser to get a value. I didn’t do that since it’s $. But, just do the same search or check ebay. $50 doesn’t seem out of range on this piece. The prices are all over the map. Check ebay too.

ETA - We have old toys from our kids we kept for our grandchildren. This Fisher Price Barn and Silo set is one. I did an image search and prices really vary but more than way back when. Every piece is still there.

As one of advanced age, whose 2 "kids" are in their 60s, and no grandkids, I have minimal practical advice to offer, I fear.

Your best plan, it seems, is to get your offer seen by as many parents of toddlers as possible, preferably with pictures. Somewhat of rather high priority as well, due to difficulty of shipping, would be to have your offer appear mainly rather close to your area, as well.

I've heard that craigslist and kijiji have been helpful for many, but have no personal experience to offer.

Proably write to as many of your friends as possible to ask for the carriers that they may have experienced or heard of who offer such wide publicity.

While I may be closing in on second childhood, I don't foresee being much interested myself - and I, living within driving distance of four of the Great Lakes, am likely too far away.

We have the barn with all the animals, as well as the house, airplane, ferris wheel and numerous other pieces. My son's favorite was the parking garage which we no longer have, but we do have the cars. When it came time to give it to my grandkids, the people and animals were considered too small and presented a potential safety hazard. Of course I have numerous pix of my own kids sticking the real little people in their mouths without issue.

It’s a wonder any of us older than 60 survived to adulthood without all those sensible safety regs! :-)

And it seems that people are a lot dumber than they used to be, so all the precautionary rules and regs are for good reason.

In fact, that's one thing I learned long ago - if a rule/regulation seems overly cautious, it's generally because something very bad already happened.

And I recall pricing those adorable vintage FP barn sets when our grandkids were tiny and they were too rich for my blood back then - that was 15 years ago.

does it have any sentimental value for you? i.e., is it something your kids used? i would find it hard to part with, it's very cute!

this is what my son had. he named it "macaroni". john is 53 now so it's pretty vintage. it still has the original "wonder horse" label on it. my dear second husband found it in the back of one of my storage sheds and made it into a carousel horse, one of my other passions. a simple curtain rod adorned with some ribbon with a fenial on top and the base is an umbrella stand. it is one of my most treasured possessions.

Around here I’d expect to see a $10-$20 price on that pony.

FOAS, I’ve never seen a rocking horse that was constructed like that. With those springs it must bounce as well as rock. What age was that horse meant for? I’m trying to figure out whether there was anything to hold on to. :)

How funny - our family has a Wonder Horse too! Its name, Wonder Horse, is painted right on it. DH remembers riding it as a toddler and he’s 71 now. His brother had it in storage; we didn’t want it so BIL passed it over to our son who put it in the attic of his shop. (He really didn’t want it. His kids are too big for it.)

@party_music50 - Yeah I guess it bounces around a bit! Along the bridle there are what look like two metal drawer pulls. Pretty rustic! I think there’s a picture of me on it, but it’s not in the album my mom gave me. I’ll ask, but it likely fell victim to Swedish death cleaning. It’s a miracle that the horse hasn’t.
