Buy Tree and Brush Killer. Drip or paint full strength on the cut root as soon as you cut it. Do not wait even one hour. I used a paint brush and then a condiment container, well labeled.

It will be drawn into the roots and kill the entire plant without damaging anything else.

Using a paintbrush is a great idea, I have plenty of those around!

I use Glyphosate 43% full strength, but there are products sold just for stump and root killers.

For small seedling or sapling sized, I bought a few 'daubers' at the hardware store,

less dripping on smaller stumps and you can cover many with one soaked dauber so it goes faster.

Apply immediately after cutting the trees off.

Mine is privet, tree of heaven(hell), poison ivy, trumpet vine, and Virginia creeper.

Not all are invasive, but all are thugs.

Sherry, I battled trumpet vines at my last house. It was an absolute nightmare. I even had dreams about it, that I woke up to it choking me. :D

My yard was half an acre and that devil vine was on all of it. Popping up all over the lawn, in all my beds, in ground cover, next to trees, etc.

I’m so thankful none of my current neighbors have it. If I ever see it here, I’m moving.
