Bogg bags are all the rage around here.

They're practical but they give me Crocs vibes.

MTn, tell me about it! The croc vibe is ubiquitous. My 3 1/2 year old GS has Bluey crocs that he adores and wants to wear everywhere. 😳

Bogg bags were the rage here the past two summers. We'll see what this summer brings? I bought the Costco dupe last summer as I could not see spending 100+ for the Bogg bag! Anyhow, used a couple of days and passed it on. It's heavy and awkward. I'm not carrying around kids' stuff/toys anymore, so it may work for that age group?

Kswl: three of my grandchildren are in Crocs more often than not. Those three are 7, 6, and 3. Kids love those shoes!

I got that vibe from them maddie260. My STUFF is too heavy already I don't need the bag to be. 100% on not spending that kind of money on something to drag assundries to the beach/pool but to each their own.

I saw a display of those Bogg(dupe) bags in front of a Michaels store recently and thought they’d be great for toting kids’ toys to the beach.

It is not very cute, though! I have a small Lands End tote that I use for my beach stuff.

Oh yes, kids love crocs! I love crocs flip-flops as they have great arch support. So comfy!

What do you all recommend for a non-fabric tote in this price range or below? I have seen many options but looking for what you like.

I have *many* canvas totes-- more than I would admit in public lol. I want something to use at the pool to carry a towel, my ipad, a wallet ... maybe a bottle of water.

is neoprene ... comes in many colors. It gets good reviews on anthro but less good on nordstrom.

My DD has the Boggs bag mostly for the beach. Her dad has a beach house at the Jersey shore so they spend a lot of time at the beach with little kids. I think it's a great bag for that. She brought it on our spa trip. Not a good bag for that!

They have a Dick's outlet near their house and her husband picked up the bag for like $30 if I remember correctly. He couldn't believe it. They would never spend the regular price for that bag.

I like those neoprene bags with the cord; I saw one recently at Nordstrom Rack. I came across the hat attack one, but I am very finickly about straw/raffia and it did not appear fine enough?

Why do you need to carry a towel and water to a pool? Assuming you are at a hotel? They will have both there.

I don't always use a hotel pool ... more often sister's pool and sometimes other local pools/lakes. I would like the option to include a *dry* towel.

That is a cute bag ... I did see it but think I should have something bigger. At least a bigger opening.

Oh, my getaway certainly spurred me on to get something nicer and better for near water ... but I am a water baby. I hit the water whenever I can ... even a beach on occasion lol.

One of my current totes IS jute-esque (really rope) .. but with no lining. I guess it could work too

I do like the idea of the neoprene -- especially because you have actually seen it in person. There is definitely a reason to keep a waterproof tote around.

Funky, not sure if this is what you're looking for but I got one of these from Baublebar. I got mine monogramed with initials which I don't see as an option on the website now. It comes in 3 sizes and lots of colors. I got the large and it's LARGE. I haven't used it yet. Probably will in Cape Cod next month.

I wanted it in time for Tulipmania to tote the paper goods but it didn't come in time. Had to resort to a Fresh Direct bag. Not glamorous but did the job.

Thanks, Jsk .. that is a cute bag! But no, I have plenty of canvas totes ... I am looking for something that is better suited to getting wet. Can I use one of my canvas bags? sure! I just think I'd like something either loosely woven or neoprene for any of a number of situations when it can get wet. But it should also be cute!

I did have something similar to the boggs bag above (i may still have it in the basement). I used it for kids toys and outdoor things I kept on my previous porch which had a lattice roof. It worked great for not holding water but I don't think I'd want to take it on an outing or trip.

I got my bag today. I like it. I think it could def fit a towel, ipad, a wallet & a bottle of water, fwiw. It is 19" across at the base and 15.5" high at the lowest point.

@Funkyart, this one is ancient and i’m headed out the door and don’t have a minute to look & see if they are still sold. it’s neoprene, lightweight and sturdy. I’ve used it for the pool and beach for years.

I ordered the one below last night .. but if I like it, I will likely order another (neon green, neon pink, pale pink ... ). I am always toting things around so they will be put to good use.

That is one of my standard colors... I have a lot of it in both my home and wardrobe.

I am still looking for something a little smaller ... perhaps a little more chic but we'll see what I come up with. I have plenty I can make work.

I received my tote today (ordered from Pop Up directly) ...

I love it .. and most of what I dont love is my fault. I know it isnt a style for everyone but I will definitely get a lot of use from it year round.

What I love:

• it is a great size-- and even more than that, it is easily made smaller/larger with snaps. If I am going to a hotel pool and need only a few things, I can make it small. If I am hauling a bunch, I can make it big. It looks nice both ways!
• It is lightweight and I love that it is neoprene .. so easy to clean, no issues getting wet or spilling something in it.
• Hardware is decent enough and I like the pouch for lip balm, gloss, hair clip, brush, etc. It is large could hold my wallet if it made sense (prob not)

What I dont love: it stinks .. but it was wrapped in plastic. I assume that will go away after airing it outside in the sun.

What I regret: the color. It is pretty and true to the photo but I really wanted a bright color. All on me! I must have been in a subdued mood when I ordered it. I will be ordering a hot color (neon pink, neon green, matcha green) and maybe white too. I may give the minty green to my sister as a gift -- it is her color and she wouldnt be caught dead with neon pink or green LOL.

I use a variety of totes depending on the swimsuit I’m wearing. I have a Madras plaid bag with a canvas strap that goes with almost everything except my black suit, a medium sized black tote from the Edo Museum in Tokyo (it has gold letters and also goes with leopard print suit), and a straw-looking all vinyl bag from Sam Edelman for a brown suit and an orange suit + rashguard ensemble. I love all the totes pictured here and would gladly buy one of each if I had a auxilliary beach/pool tote closet!

Most of my suits are black or brightly colored (if they fit-- havent gone there yet). I don't know what I was thinking when I got the aqua/minty green color. I think the white with neon pink lining will work best with all.

Note: i don't super care if I match going to sister's house ... but a little. I do care at the hotel pool or beach.

Funky - thanks for the detailed review of the Pop Up. I've been looking for a new tote to use when I go to water class in the morning. I've been carrying a Sea Bag duffle bag and put my wet swimsuit in a waterproof zip pouch. But I think an open tote would be easier to access - plus it is lightweight, waterproof and washable! But so many colors - that makes it hard to pick, but there is a blossom mint flower tote for $81 which is tempting.......

Wait. Am I supposed to match my beach bag to my bathing suit? I am a mess.

I think it would be great for your water class, Maire -- and a great price! I was tempted by some of the sale prints. I like lilac shroom but the color doesnt really coordinate with my wardrobe... I am in love with pink majestic (the elephants) but not for my summer needs.

Sue! Perhaps if I were vacationing at some exclusive, exotic resort I might think about coordinating everything - sun hat, sandals, swimsuit, cover-up, tote, towels, sunglasses etc.

OK, I just thought about it and immediately discarded that thought. Too much work and considering most of my clothes are solids in navy, black and khaki and my swimsuits are navy or black I really don't have to worry about that. Plus I wear street clothes to the gym pool.

The back story to the Pop Up company is really cute too. Sale items are final but regular priced bags can be returned minus a re-stocking fee and what your return postage is. They'er also on A-z but without sale prices.

My fav of all of the Pop Up bags pictured is the white one with the pink lining.

@Sueb20, you made me laugh out loud, mainly because those were my thoughts too! Because I don’t swim and hate the sun, I own one swimsuit, one pair of appropriate sandals, and 0 beach bags. That the swimsuit and the sandals coordinate is accidental.

ETA: Bogg Bags are sturdy enough to carry 6 bottles of wine. Factoid discovered from cookbook club.

I have exactly one bathing suit and one straw tote/beach bag. Clearly, I need to do some shopping.

When Funky posted the Pop-up bag, I remembered I bought something similar at a fancy home/garden/clothing store maybe 10 years ago and use it for Pickle ball or golf paraphenalia. Apparently, I was in a camo phase...

It has held up very well over the years. I looked and it is not branded as Pop Up but it looks exactly the same. I think it would go with my one black bathing suit.

I own a beach house so clearly I should have alllll the totes. Funky, I looked on their site earlier and YES I wanted the elephant bag. However, I am afraid of what mean people might say under their breath when my chubby bathing-suited body walks along the beach with an elephant print bag…

I also do not have matching totes to my bathing suits! Uh oh. But to be honest, when at a resort or on a cruise, I use the tote provided and DH carries it.

In Cape Cod or the rare beach day here in NJ, I use a blue/white striped tote. I don't think it coordinates with anything. Oh well.

I do love the white one Funky posted above. I am not going to look at price because I am trying to rein myself in.

Wow, DH showed me the last one with hydrangeas. It must have come up as an ad for him somewhere. I declined to order it, but I do like it a lot.

I used my new one yesterday to carry some gifts and two boxes of Ramona grapefruit wine spritzers :) I didnt plan it but I was wearing light faded green pants with a white top and sister commented how I had coordinated my outfit LOL. That is the thing with the color I purchased-- other than my bright swimsuits, it does coordinate well with the colors I tend to wear.

Just ran across these (and more) bags HERE. On at least one, the size is 17" x 17" x 7".

I only own two beach bags - one black, one navy, and only purchased the navy bag. I must be the most low maintenance beach person here! But I did purchase custom beach towels monogrammed with our house name as a gift for DH.

While it hardly fits into the ”cutest” category, and maybe not into “beach bag” either, I have just bought myself an L.L. Bean boat bag that I’ve been pining for since the new color came out earlier this year. It is Seaboard Blue.

Wirecutter had a code for 15% off (WCBEAN15) and a code for free shipping (WCSHIP). Seaboard Blue only comes in Medium. The codes stack. It doesn’t arrive until September 1. If I wanted the one with the longer handles, I could have it by August 1.

My sister has bought each of my grandchildren their own Large Bean Boat Bag monogrammed. It is for them to keep their stuff organized in the car.

Honestly, I am ridiculous with totes. I have pretty ones, functional ones, seasonal ones.

Since I don't drive, I am often carting a lot around with me .. that is my excuse but the truth is, I had a LOT of totes when I did drive! I had totes that matched my SUV for storing things in the car. I have huge totes for delivering christmas gifts. I keep cute totes in the gift closet to use as gift bags.

I am pretty sure I will be ordering the Tide Hill octopus tote the next time they run a sale (for a Christmas Gift). I also like the idea of getting smaller bean bags for the little boys. Great idea, Bbstx!

When we bought our beachhouse, the realtor bought each member of the family a mongrammed over large LL Bean tote. We use them still. The only thing I don't like about them is they are very stiff (could be a plus to some) and hard to wash.

I bought both of grandkids the large LL Bean monogramed tote last Chanukah. I'm so bad at judging size. They were huge. I was afraid they were too big for my tiny grandkids, but DD said they'll be perfect for their sports equipment. They were/are really cute and well made.

So many cute bags here! I, too, have a bag problem. I love my Scout bags, though, for most casual things. (They are no sub for a purse.) Good price, they're lightweight but wear like iron, stand up by themselves, and can get wet without issue. I have one for my car, a few for grocery shopping, one big one for the beach, a few for carrying things back and forth to the lake house and several misc bags.
