Blooming on a beautiful day

It was a beautiful day today. Bob and I spent about 3 hours outside this morning hybridizing and evaluating seedlings. The temperature was nice and the sky was blue with big fluffly white clouds. I wish every day could be like today.

I thought I'd post this photo. I took the picture at the end of a seedling bed. The ground slopes down to the neighbor's driveway.

Vision Seeker was nice today.

White Lace and Promises, which we registered this year, has been a bit disappointing. The early flowers didn't want to open well. This one is better.

Olive's Odd One looked great today.

This is the first flower ever on Last House on the Left. We planted it last season.

Isla Morada is a southern bred daylily that hangs in there.

Idiot Savant might be my favorite pattern. It has nice clean color.

Four Beasts in One

Greywood's Lips a Quiver is a smallish flower that often doesn't open well. I am not sure it will be around long.

Heavenly Pink Angel has a killer scape with good branching and lots of buds.

I'll post some seedlings in the comments.

It was a good day for seedlings.

These two have the same parentage. They are out of Bob's fulva lines. It's a very complicated parentage. ((F. Yunnan X Empire of Dawn and Dusk) X Crimson Stories) X (Let's Dance Tonight) X (Stellar Stitchery X Cherry Pie a la Mode)).

This one is about 3.5 inches across. It is Spacecoast Color Scheme X Rosemary Mussar.

This is also small. It is Tom Adams X Purple Peek-a-boo. I love the color on this one.

    This Wolverine X Absolute Ripper.

    That's enough for me today.

Today at the dog park, one person summed up the day's weather:

    "It doesn't get any better."

I have had a similar experience with the Greywoods Lips. (With carpal tunnel, I often abbreviate.) Pink Angel, I see, is 4.5". I hope that Derrow gets some good kids out of VS.

    Nancy,

That first photo is awesome. It is a gorgeous view. Vision Seeker got my attention. The base color certainly is more pink than in my yard. Mine leans more toward a muddy pink/mauve.

What a lot of eye candy in the Seedling bed...and a lot of work too. Of the photos, Vision Seeker, Last House on the Left, Isla Morada, and Heavenly Pink Angel are all very pretty. ON the seedlings, Color Scheme X Rosemary Mussar., and (I am so predictable) The Absolute Ripper seedling are so gorgeous.

Idiot Savant is my favorite of these. I do like its pattern. I love that first shot of your seedling hill! The clouds are gorgeous in that blue sky!

Your seedling bed shot is glorious. I would love days and days of this! Great photo of Vision Seeker. Isla Morada and Idiot Savant are really pretty. I like the form on Heavenly Pink Angel. Although I don’t have many small daylilies and they are rarely a ”buy” choice, I like the color on the Tom Adams seedling.

Wow, what a view of your beds!!! I know you keep good records. I don't think I could keep track of so many. Vision Seeker is my favorite of all of these. Beautiful! My favorite seedling is the first one out of the fulva line. Tom Adams X Purple Peek-a-boo is a great color, I agree!!

The blooms look great but that field pic of all those blooms is breathtaking. Wow.
