Here is close up of door color

Have you painted the door already? I’d paint the door and trim and side panels all the same color: whatever color the shingles are above the door.

^Pretty much what I was thinking. A light color will help give the door more presence since it’s recessed. Consider keeping it simple due to other patterns and textures.

The pop of red looks pretty cool. That and white trim draws the eye. White trim also echoes that around the windows. The side panels appear as dark as the surface immediately above. Maybe paint panels the same color. I think red side panels would be too much.

I like the red door. Agree with painting the gable.

Longer lights on the front entry pillars and flower-filled pots to breakup the long covered entry to the front door could look nice:

I’d paint the sight lites and trim all red, as I find the white trim a bit distracting. I’d also add some red to the furniture in the way of pillows and add taller planters in front. Nice home!

I would definitely paint the panels all the red color. The trim, can remain white., or it could also be painted red. Either will look good. I also agree, that gable needs to be painted the color of the darker siding. The color of the gable now, fights with the color of the stone, and also with the darker color.

The red color is a good foil for the green siding. So, I agree with your choice. Would suggest that you paint the sidelites the same color.

In regard to your question, when sidelights and trim are not the same color, in my opinion it feels choppy and less inviting. You mentioned you like the door’s color, but before adjusting, consider your house as a whole. There is a lot going on with multiple finishes and shades. Here is a unified feel with repetition of similar shades.

Going back to your door, I’d choose a color that connects the stone, siding, roof, walkway and landing.

What about the wood color you have on the ceiling of the deck? Might make sense in a stain instead of a paint to go with the natural feel of the stones

On the right side, i used a midnight blue that i thought would look good with the porch. Just trying to decide on what color works best. I’m still not against painting it all red. What color looks best to you? Or should i paint the side panels Rich espresso color like the peak on the front of the house?

Whatever color for the door, I think the side lights should be the same.

Go even bolder with a bright orange to really brighten the recessed space. And yes, do the sidelight panels in orange as well.

That looks really good! Never thought of orange. My original choice was a rust color but i didn’t pick the right shade and it was more of a pumpkin color.

Another question, do you think i should get something (like metal art or some kind of decoration) to hang in the gable area above entryway to porch?

No, but the gable should be painted to match the new siding so it's all coherent. You have a lot of features that break up the visual flow--windows, chairs, sconces, and the awkward gable. As budget allows, paint the gable and get larger sconces.
