I like to be able to see the TV from the kitchen. Especially if you are sports fans. If you put the two sofas in an L configuration, one will face the TV and one will face the fireplace. I would not want the TV above the fireplace.

I agree that the fireplace is the focal point aith the two sofas flanking. Do you have room on either side of the fireplace to mount the TV? a tall armoire or shelving unit for the other side?

Center a large area rug on the firebox and centered in the room.

Large coffee table/ottoman centered on the firebox between the sofas.

For me, centering the sofas in the room, rather than pushing them too close to the Fireplace. The occasional/accent chair at the window with a small table for reading or coffee in the natural light. A sofa table behind the sofa separating the living room from the kitchen.

so you can walk into the living room from either the window side or the fireplace side equally.

you have a great alcove on both sides of the fireplace for tv placement and shelving. this pic gives you an idea of possibles. Id replace the white ottomans with two tub chairs when you can

By the way we have 65 inch Samsung Frame TV, which does look like an art when turned off

you have a great alcove on both sides of the fireplace for tv placement and shelvingif you prefer to place tv above fireplace, go ahead and so many households do. its just not my preference. if you decide to place tv in one of the alcoves, you can make it as simple or complex as you like. you can just mount tv on wall and have shelf underneath and in other alcove you can install shelving the full height of alcove. cabinet doors covering bottom two shelves can be used for storage. Id love to see natural wood/wood veneer shelving with a medium stain. wood shelves will pick up the wood base in coffee table and add warmth to the room. strip lighting under shelving will also add interest

L-configuration of 2 sofas best. Nothing more uncomfortable than having to turn sideways to see either the tv or fireplace. Agree 2 swivel chairs instead of cubes would be much better.

When you have two sofas, then two focal points aren't a problem. Create an L-shaped layout with your sofas by floating the long one to face the fireplace with a walkway behind it. Place the TV on the far wall with a console beneath it and art around it. Float the other sofa as you have it with a sofa table behind it to face the far wall.

Down the road, trade out the oversized dark sofas for one sofa and two comfortable armchairs to flank the fireplace.
