backsplash depends on the kitchen in my non pro opinion - if you’re willing to show your layout you’ll get good advice

fwiw we have a slab backsplash in our main home, made the most sense with the U shaped layout, for a recent vacation build we didn’t have uppers on the sink wall, so a 7” ledge of countertop material to the bottom window sill made for a clean/low key BS treatment / in other words different treatments for different kitchens

A backsplash is the LAST to install, last worry in any kitchen

Show what you're doing, show what you have now? It's a remodel? A new build? What's the layout, current or new? What is the flooring,... and more.

Add a lot of context to your question and a LOT of good advice may come your way.

We need to see your slab of stone and your cabinet color posted here together in a comment. No way to help otherwise. I think sometimes the best answer is the same materila for backsplash and counter but I need to see the choices.

I wouldn’t choose the backsplash yet. With White Macaubus, the actual slab matters a lot, and Dove/Mocha can read very different depending on the light.

I’d put the slab photo, cabinet sample and flooring together first. If the stone has strong movement, I’d keep the backsplash very quiet.

Avoid cheap imports like Fabuwood, and you will be a lot better off.
