With your floors I was thinking about taupes, perhaps something with a subtle green cast , ( BM Hancock Gray ) or a very neutral putty / beige. Neutrals, other than the ubiquitous whites seen everywhere.

Why don't you pull a colour out of your rug to tie things together?

You might take a look at BM Natural Cream or SW Accessible Beige. Both warmer without going yellow.

Floors and rug stays:

Center the rug on the fireplace. Get a felt pad for the rug.

Sell the sofa...too big, too dark and it is blocking the window.

Buy two more of the accents chairs and put them in front of the window.

Buy two matching side tables between the chairs.

Can't see the coffee table.

Paint the front door (all of it, as it is a one piece install) the white of your wood work.

Over mantel wall decor could be more interesting.

Leave the gray. It works beautifully with the color of your wood work (and the front door if you paint it).

I would leave the sofa. I would not want a living room, that was all chairs and no sofa, and I dont think your sofa is too big. I agree, the gray looks good on the walls, so unless you really want to paint it another color, I would leave it. If you do decide to paint, I agree with RHO above, about pulling a color out of your rug, which I think also looks nice in there.

I like your sofa, a lot, color & size. It would look good with a few nice decorative pillows. what colors are in your rug? can you post a close up shot? i like your front door as is, in it’s current state.

I like the current color, but if you want a change you could go a little warmer. You might consider adding draperies. AI took off the blinds but you could leave those on and just add the draperies

I need to see the rug for sure. I like gray walls so not a big deal for me but sometimes a change is just waht you need . The stair carpet is for sure going to drive wall color choices are you willing to change that? Maybe just a much lighter shade og gary to give you a change but not aneed for other stuff to be changed , Post a close up of the rug here in a comment.
