A Viking cooktop is the only appliance in my kitchen that hasn’t needed service and to be replaced. Can’t speak to their ovens.

I have a Frigidaire Professional double oven. I think I liked it better when I first got it than now. It has pretty wild temp swings, not sure what’s normal but my Wolf DF range is a lot tighter. The fact that temp is only adjustable in 25° increments doesn’t help dial things in. And since you like the simplity of knobs, I’ll also point out that the upper oven knob has developed a need to be jiggled for the bezel light to stay on. Doesn’t seem to affect the actual operation, but it’s a bit annoying as I notoriously forget to turn off the oven and the light helps.

Ooooooh yeah. I wasn’t keen on the Frigidaire, just seemed like it might not be as quality. And re: Viking, this is what I’ve been reading, too bad. My guess is I need to put my stress aside and just deal with tech!

What about Thermador? I seem to recall hearing good things about their ovens but don’t quote me on it.

No they aren’t, I was just looking at them. The professional line has knobs, so worth a look! Just unclear if they’ll be okay with an advantium above.

I don't know what "SO" means but GE sells virtually the same Advantium appliance under its various brands at vastly different price points.
