Blooms quickly fade with this heat, and many are bleached out already early in the morning. I will take a look later at my attempts at pics the last few days.

Here are some catch-up pics from cooler days in June.
Let the Sea Resound. Reliable and tall Emmerich.

Korth's Free to Dance had some shorter scapes. Deer broke through and devoured a few scapes, but it sent up more. I like this one a lot, but it was shorter this year.

Carl Sagan. This Hanson has been so intense. Gained a few inches this year, which it needed.

Davisson's Jimmy, on tall scapes, has looked good.

Blazing Saddles is best Hansen I have.

Davisson's Steve's Magic

Not a picture I normally would save, but it illustrates the situation this year with Velvet Hammer.

Persian Ruby has pieces here and there. So bold, even in the heat.

Intelligent Design

Isabelle Rose

Blood of the Martyrs looked more reddish on these cool days. Right now, early in the morning it looks more purplish. Hates the hot sun more than most.

Korth's Pool of Siloam looked good in June's coolness.

Gossard's Jupiter's Eye added height inches.

Last year, Korth's Wild about You was frequently splotchy. Not so this year.

Davisson's Hardy Har Har looked vivid, but sun alters the color.

Yes, the heat is awful! Of yours, my favorites are the second and third to last.

I do like Via Dolorosa but isn't that an Emmerich?.At least that is what the registration shows. Intelligent Design is picture perfect with the cascade of blooms. Lovely group of pics.

Blazing Saddles stands out in this crowd. Blood of the Martyrs looked good in the June pic. Isabelle Rose is always a stand out. I must move my Persian Ruby-it has never performed well and rarely blooms above the foliage.

Yes, of course, Via is an Emmerich. Persian Ruby last year was a bit short, but not this year. Note that I never post without names (at least, for the entire group). It takes a while to complete a longer post, and if someone comments while I am editing, that is one way for Houzz to lose an entire post.

Blazing Saddles looks great, and I like Steve's Magic and Pool of Siloam. So your Velvet Hammer is short this year with some scapes down in the foliage?

Sherry, Isabelle is always like this. It grows so easily--truly worthy of its Stout. Debra, Velvet is somewhat shorter, with one or two scapes quite low. Not a great year for it.

I still like Partygirl. The name is too crass for me though......I also like Carl Sagan quite a bit. Nice full bloom with petal texture. Is it purple or maroon for you? How's it hold up in your heat? Short as in not bad for a pot, or short as in down in the foliage?.....Maryl

Partygirl is in demand for hybridizing, I am told. Everything is fried today, but I rather doubt that Carl Sagan is especially heat tolerant. It has wonderful texture (I should have cropped it to show more close-up). It is not down in the foliage.
