I am not sure about the parentage of this reverse bicolor. The year this seedling was germinated, Bob dropped a tray of seedlings and tags got mixed up. The sepals look abnormally long on this.

I like Bob’s creation. I am guessing he set pods on the Fulva. My Autumn Minaret has never set a pod. Am I correct?

Bryan's Song just started here too. It is one I always liked at Ashwood. Both seedlings are interesting. It must be difficult to keep all the parentage exact. Wasn't it the Rices that had a lot of unknown x unknown?

That is one tall seedling! Bryan’s Song has that pretty soft look that I like. Glowing Quasar is indeed glowing. I like seeing raindrops on blooms as long as they are not destroying them. You have good photos.

I Know is pretty, and Bob's tall one is indeed tall. I too like those soft lavenders such as BrIan's Song. Anyone remember the movie from the early 70's? Made grown men mist up.....Maryl

I love the photo of Bob and his "beanstalk." That is one tall daylily! I love the colors on Brian's Song and Glowing Quasar. The reverse bicolor has an interesting look. The sepals may be long, but I like the way they curl.

Sherry, the pod for the tall one was indeed on the fulva, but not fulva 'Europa' the common ditch lily. That one is nearly sterile. I think Stout made hundreds of crosses to get just a few pods. We typically use fulva 'Yunnan', 'Switzerland' or 'Hankow' but I don't remember which is was for the tall one. Our tag has disappeared but we have it recorded on a map. Autumn Minaret is thought to be nearly pod sterile, but the pollen is good. This tall seedling appears to be nocturnal, but I'm not sure where that trait comes from. Bob likes it because he says it is quite fragrant. It wouldn't do me any good to sniff it even if I could get my nose up that high. I can smell roses and lilacs and other flowers on the air, but I can't smell daylily fragrance at all.

Bob's "beanstock" is amazing!! It looks well branched and budded.

I also like Brian's Song [never saw the movie], and It Stops at Garage Sales.

That is one tall seedling. Beautiful group of daylilies. Its always hard to pick favorites.

I need to correct a spelling. The lavender daylily is Bryan's Song. I realized that after I posted it incorrectly here and on Facebook.
