The second. It’s more historically appropriate and looks great. The slanted roof version messes with your home’s balance and looks too modern (it would almost make your house look McMansion-esque).

Is that a window or a door? I do not see the point of a Juliet balcony if you can't get to it. I think #2 looks great.

Here are various options for your portico. I prefer a flat roof over the entrance. If you install a railing shorten the height on the railing. The only you illustrate is too tall.

I like #2 better, but unless it needs repair, I don't think you'll see a big difference. It's probably a lot of money for a minor change. I'd spend my money elsewhere.

The first version has a lot of hallucinations. It's not clear that you could actually implement that idea given that AI shrank your window to make it fit.

Number 2 would be easy to do if you only replace the round columns with square ones + change the spindles on the upper part of the portico. Does the existing portico have any issues?

I agree with dani_m08, if there is nothing structurally wrong with the current portico, I would just make some changes to the size of the upper balustrade, and change the columns if you prefer a different style. I would also replace the front door with a more traditional style with sidelights. Also, replace lanterns with a slightly larger size, the current ones look too small.

Keep your portico as it is. It’s beautiful. Add shutters and refresh your landscaping instead.

I think Bev's idea is best--the flat roof over the front door is simple and doesn't distract from the look of the house. The railing really isn't necessary.

Gutters are utilitarian and not architectural elements. Match the horizontal gutters to the fascia/soffit and the vertical downspouts to the siding color. You don't want vertical brown stripes breaking up the front of your house. People wrongly assume gutters and downspouts have to be the same color.

Here is a house with white gutters and grey downspouts that match the siding. They blend in and mostly disappear.
