As far as selecting a paint color for the walls, that is usually the last decision to be made. What else will be in the room? You say that you're packing up the house, so is all the furniture going or is any staying? The wall color should work with the soft textiles you have in the room--rugs, curtains, upholstery. There are very many "historical" colors that you could choose depending on the rest of the furniture; these are not chosen in a vacuum.

Thank you Diana! We are not sure if we are going to rent it out furnished or unfurnished. That decision must be made first. I can see I have been trying to put the cart before the horse! It is appreciated.

Either way I would go with a beautiful soft white/beige neutral tones. A rental is not where you decide to color walls. Think of all those who rent and come here wanting to know what to do with a color the owner chose that does not fit their 'soft textiles' which could likely be swapped if you furnish or not.

If you are going to rent it out, the current paint is a neutral for any potential tenant to be able to work with. Looks like a lovely home.

I think the color it is right now, works for those rooms. They look nice and light and bright. I would prefer what it is now, over a green. Green doesnt go with everyones decor. The swiss coffee, usually is a good rental choice. The green makes the house look a bit dated, to be truthful. Its a cute house.

I like the current color. In general, I'm not a fan of beige, but that's very neutral. If it's a rental, you want neutral. When I was looking to rent a house, I remember seeing one with a very nice blue living room --- except all my living room furniture was green with some yellow accents.

Agree, keep as is for a rental.

Current color. I normally like greens, but for some reason, IDK why, that is giving me “assisted living” vibes.

BM Navajo White is the go to white for homes of that era. Usually they would have the original unpainted woodwork which NW goes well with, but NW is a warm white that will hold up well in a north facing room (and go well with the floors). If you don't want to repaint the trim you will need to sample to make sure it (or whatever color you choose) will work with the existing trim color. I think Manchester Tan is too dark for a rental, and green is too limiting. If you were going to live there and liked green it would be a different story.

That is the problem… i keep designing it as if I will live there. Tough to be neutral!

Thanks for the clarification, @Oreo Kolthoff. If you are going to rent it out, focus on the furniture colors, patterns and layout. As everyone says, the wall color is nice and will probably work with a lot of different styles and colors.
