Easier in the longrun to dig it all and seperate it, probably faster too.

I think there is a Preen you can use on Lirope. It is one made for grass and you would apply next spring. Now, you will have to dig out as much as you can.

Soak down well with water. Use a spading fork to loose and pull out the crabgrass:

I can attest to that. Agree the best course of action is to dig out the clumps and separate out the crabgrass.

At least it's not couchgrass...

i dug up a patch last year & separated it out & replanted. this grass had really long roots. i'm using the term crab grass generically. not sure what it really is. we've had 5" of rain in the past 6 days & it's cooled off a tad. i'm going to dig some today.

There is a grass specific herbicide that would not kill the liriope.
