Most of the bookstores we went to were in the lower east side -- we did go to a few on that list and of course. I had also been to NYPL and McNally Jackson previously .. and I still havent been to the cookbook store. Next time!

My niece and her DH who met each other in a book club, opened that independent book store in Nov. 2019. Several family members thought they were crazy to do so and that was begore Covid became a factor and getting their liquor license took months. Six plus years later they are going strong and have opened a second location at 380 Troutman St, Brooklyn, NY 11237

I didn't even know about Atlantis Books in Santorini when I came across it, but it is like entering a treehouse. I hear they have since moved, into another special and beautiful space.

Powell Books I still love for the serendipity of sidewalk poets typing custom poems for a few dollars.
