It depends on a few things but non slip is a big one IMO so a bit of grit makes sense for any concrete that gets wet

the slope, the climate in your area. A broom finish leaves a bit of roughness, enough for a grip in wet conditions. You could also add a color so it doesn't look so "concrete"

I just did a poured patio and asked for black. It's a dark gray, graphite rather than black, but better than gray concrete. Broom finish, smooth, but not polished like you'd do an interior surface.
